Seattle Woman Collected Welfare in $1.2 Million House {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 6th 2011 9:47PM I see similar abuse of the system almost every day. Reporting it seems to bring little to no results, so apathy sets in. One time, I cared for a Dentist ("oh, but it's in Mexico!") that was on Medicaid. Another time, a "Medicaid Princess' required a special tool to removed her Cartier bracelet rpior to her surgery. I later found comparable bracelets on eBay for somewhere in the neighborhood of 3-4 thousand bucks. Can you imagine what it probably cost straight from Cartier?!? It makes me sick, but I have found no solution.

Helen Mirren Shows Skin for Esquire {Stylelist}

Jul 14th 2011 10:47AM For all the nay-sayers out there: are you BLIND?!? She looks AWESOME for her age or any age. She has always maintained a great physique and I think it's wonderful that she still rocks bikinis and form-fitting gowns and looks so marvelous! They just did a spead on all the American actresses and models wearing the US flag, and I think she looks as good or better than any of htem.

Schwarzenegger to Pay Out 'Very Generous Divorce Settlement' {PopEater}

Jul 5th 2011 3:12PM Although taking the 'high road' is probably the only way he can salvage his career, I think it's great that he's not trying to jerk her around in court and that they are trying to work together on their joint responsibility of raising their children. I hope his boys learn the lesson from the sins of their father: infidelity can be a VERY costly mistake and it's best to just 'man up' and take responsibiilty.

Jun 21st 2011 10:51PM I think it's awesome he got sober and has so far managed to say that way. I thought he was a joy to watch on DWTS the other season when he was on and he would point out it was his first big endeavor SOBER and that made him very nervous. It was endearing and he a ctually didn't do half bad. I thought.

Mildred Baena on Love Child: 'It Wasn't Arnie's Fault, It Takes Two' {PopEater}

Jun 15th 2011 10:51AM All of the reports were that SHE pursued HIM. I also read that she listed her then-husband as the father on the birth certificate....so they were BOTH doing things outside of their marriages. It is sad. ANd, John, NO not ALL men cheat. You lead one to believe that you are trying to justify your actions.....

Jun 8th 2011 10:28PM The typical postpartum belly looks about 20 weeks pregnant when the delivered mom goes home from the hospital. The expectation is that the fundal height of the uterus will go down about a finger's breadth each day after that and that the uterus won't be easily palpable by about a week/week and a half after delivery. How do I know? I'm a labor and delivery nurse and Isee it every day and teach my patients what to expect afterwards. FINALLY, a celeb with the guts to look real!

Circumcision Ban Makes San Francisco's November Ballot Cut {ParentDish}

May 19th 2011 4:02PM I remember the article you're referring to. It's not all Rabbis, it's a smaller group that try to stick to the older methods. Most circumcisions are done with more modern methodology, which does not include this type of contact.

May 19th 2011 3:54PM Wolf E. it is a LOT more humane to trim off the piece od skin when a baby is so small and heals rapidly than to wait until they are older, healp slower and will definitely remember it. Little old men that wind up having to have it removed after it gets stuck don't heal very fast at all and it is more painful at that time. And, FYI: I can't vouch for other hospitals, but I assure you that the hospital I work at does NOT sell the skin! I don't know WHERE you got that piece of misinformation!

May 18th 2011 5:15PM Jennifer, I'm one of the health care professionals that you're talking about. My chiropractor makes bank, partly due to the rigors of my job. You have some valid points, especially about the c-sections and the healing process. We have to be very careful to make sure our patients know how to properly manage their incision once they get home, to avoid infection. Doubly so if they are also diabetic. BUT, once the patient is pregnant, it's all pretty much a situation of manage things as they are, not as the should be. I love all my patients, and I try to encourage my patients to work into more healthful routines that they can live with and bring about some changes, so that they can have a longer, healthier life and see their children grow up.

May 18th 2011 4:59PM Terry, what the PA said might have very well been a true statement, but it might have been said in a more kindly and understanding manner. The uterus and ovaries are palpated through the abdominal wall through bimanual exam (one hand on your tum and one hand in...)With the presence of extra adipose tissue in the lower abdomen, it would have a strong potential to make it more difficult to palpate these organs this way. The hysterectomy sounds like it would have happened even if the PA could have felt it, but I feel bad for you that you were made to feel bad when you were already anxious about this health issue. All patients deserve to be treated with sensitivity to their feelings.
