SmackDown: Should Parents Give Gifts to Adult Children? {ParentDish}

Dec 5th 2010 2:08PM We still give our married, adult only child Christmas presents, as well as her husband. Of course, they also bestow Christmas presents on us, her parents...I think THAT is what we should all strive for. It's the excitement of the exchange that makes it all worthwhile. One day we hope to include our grandchildren in all the festivities!!

Miracle Skin Transformer - I Tried It, Plus a Giveaway! {Stylelist}

Nov 19th 2010 1:15PM Wow, this soounds very interesting. I've spent most of my life makeup-free because it just wasn't worth the time, energy and cost...things would "expire" before I could have possibly used it. Fortunately, I've been blessed with olive skin that holds come color, so lipstick is my only real necessity. But I'm over 50 now, and need to start thinking about "enhancing" myself...LOL!! An all-in-one product fits right into my lifestyle. Thanks!!

Grandson Won't Sleep in His Own Bed! {ParentDish}

Oct 31st 2010 3:13PM When our daughter was small, we read somewhere to put her sleeping bag at our bedroom's doorway. When she walked onto it, she would subconciously stop there, instead of our bed. IT WORKED from the first night. Maybe it'll help other families...

Spirit Airlines Begins Cancellations in Preparation for Strike {AOL Travel News}

Jun 12th 2010 11:38AM http://www.aviationinterviews.com/pilot/airlinepayrates.html If a Spirit pilot WERE with Spirit in 2001, they would be making $70/ hour now as a 9 year veteran of their company, more if they started before, and SIGNIFICANTLY more than "the head casher at your local Target," as Scared to Death states. I may be wrong, but I think most of us would take that as a base pay, with whatever benefits package that was also offered...including free air travel. I think MOST OF US would be able to pay our mortgages and feed our families on that salary. Also, the testing that needs to be done for the job is covered by their health insurance policy which, I would venture a guess, is a benefit of their job.

As far as parity, we live in the US, which has a free enterprise system in place. Not every pilot coming out of their training is equally competent, so parity doesn't even come into play. Even so, taking that to it's illogical conclusion, then every lawyer coming out of Harvard, every film maker coming out of USC, and every chef coming out of Johnson & Wales would start out at the same pay scale. These pilots chose to work for a company who advertises a $9 Fare Club, so if revenue isn't a high as other airlines, then costs must be aligned as such.

As far as the hours are concerned, the majority of people working today work more than 40 hours per week, or even have a second job, THAT WOULD ALSO INCLUDE COMMUTING TIME, "Scared to Death"!! I personally know nurses, chefs, and police who are working 60-70 hours per week; jobs that are dangerous, where reflexes must be primed.

I stand by my words.

Spirit Airlines Begins Cancellations in Preparation for Strike {AOL Travel News}

Jun 11th 2010 8:20PM They're charging for bags because who do you think is paying for any raise these pilots get?! Their pilots can't work for a budget airline, though, and expect the same pay!! It's simple business, if the revenue isn't coming in, then costs have to be kept down!!

T-Shirt Says to "Eat Less" {That's Fit}

Jun 5th 2010 9:35PM It really all depends on WHICH SIZES the shirt comes in!! If it's in a large or extra large, then it's appropriate. If it's in a small or extra small, then it's promoting an unhealthy choice. BTW, I'm an XL and I wouldn't find it offensive on someone my size.
