Motherhood Moments: Love Means Having to Say You're Sorry {ParentDish}

May 8th 2011 5:11PM Maybe it was the generation. I am always amazed that my mother never apologized to me about ANYTHING. It seemed that she never saw me as a person with feelings, just an extension of herself. I think that hurt us both.

Better Ways to Spend $40 Than on Pajama Jeans {WalletPop}

Jan 16th 2011 8:36PM What are you guys living for? Who are you trying to impress? What difference does it make what you are wearing as long as you are clean and a decent, honest person? I can't believe your priorities? Who does your thinking for you?

Why I Got the Word 'Open' Tattooed on My Back {Lemondrop}

Oct 1st 2010 9:51PM I got a tattoo when I was 52. It's on my right shoulder. Since I do not wear backless clothes, not many people know I have one. I was brought up to think tattoos are for cheap people, but I don't believe that now. .

Rachel, you are a grown-up and you can do what makes you happy. People's opinions are just that. Have fun!

Living a 'Less than average' life: Technology {WalletPop}

Apr 10th 2010 6:06PM I don't see anything wrong with being frugal. It can be done in many ways without being deprived. If TV is really important to you, then save in other ways. I feel like its a matter of living mindfully and being aware of what we want and why we want it. Just being aware of how wasteful we are can help a lot.

I buy excellent coffee beans and grind them at home, so I enjoy a great cup of coffee on the way to work and it is ultimately cheaper than Starbucks or whatever.

I don't need an expensive new car, when a nice used one works just as well. I have Netflix and a ROKU player so I can watch quality TV and movies. I bring my lunch to work, but order out once a week.

I don't feel bad about spending money for a quality item I really want. I just make sure that I will use it, and enjoy it.

I was in big debt until recently, and working to pay off debt is not a way I want to live anymore. It is scary and stressful. I bought so much stuff without thinking about it, sometimes just to fill up a hole inside or to make me feel good. No more...and this feeling good lasts!
