Does 'The Biggest Loser' Promote Unhealthy Weight Loss? Contestants Speak Out {AOL TV}

Jul 5th 2010 8:23PM I found a link that many may be interested in. I'm not selling anything, just thought foodies may find it interesting. Foods purchased for a week consumption from around the world. The US is listed twice. I see a LOT of processed foods and not a lot of veggies until lower on the list where food is truly seen as survival. http://www.6die.com/2010/07/family-food-consumption-by-country.html

Does 'The Biggest Loser' Promote Unhealthy Weight Loss? Contestants Speak Out {AOL TV}

Jul 5th 2010 7:42PM Brenda,

I believe that tito said put the junk food down-not starving yourself. Eating healthy does not require a lot of money. It may require a bit more time management, but not more money. (Unless you are trying to buy only certified organic foods and to that I would suggest a trip to your local farmers market or grow your own.)
Food Addiction should not be used as an excuse. We are all accountable for our own lives, period. Yes, there are some who have suffered traumatic events in their lives but that does not mean each turn to food or to other 'addictions'. They choose to take control of their life and to not allow someone or something else dictate their life.
As for thyroid issues, keep up with your doctor and maintain healthy eating. Keep at your doctor until a correct dosage of medicine, exercise and eating plan work for you.
As for working many jobs-so? You are the only person who controls what you eat. Not your employer, your mother, your sister, burger king, the bus driver etc.

An Embarassed 'Oprah' Insults a Geisha (VIDEO) {Inside TV Blog}

Feb 10th 2010 2:39PM Geisha are trained as artists. They are a companion to a gentleman. A serious Geisha would take offense to sex being asked for. The first geisha were actually men brought in to entertain the men who were with the coutesans (very top prostitutes). A failed courtesan copied the geisha and she was a hit. After awhile, the female geisha outnumbered the males. It saddens me to see such a noble profession being degraded. These women train exceptionally hard for many years and then to be compared to a mere prostitute...shame on you and shame on Oprah for not doing a little research.

Starbucks employee claims he was fired because of his tattoos {WalletPop}

Feb 8th 2010 10:24AM and the sign said "long haired freaky people need not apply"
So I put my hair under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said you look like a fine outstanding young man I think you'll do
So I took off my hat I said "Imagine that Huh Me working for you"...
I'm not asking anyone to change their life views completely but I do ask to simply take a moment and get to know a person before casting your judgement.

Confessions of a Retail Manager OR I am a Professional Tongue Biter {AOL Jobs}

Feb 6th 2010 4:42PM Oh and as for children, I have alwas kept coloring books and crayons in my "goodie bag", If that doesn't hold their attention, I politely guide the children back to the parent and let them know the dangers of unattended children. If they continue to let them run wild, I take the children back and tell the parent "I'll be glad to check you out....now."

Confessions of a Retail Manager OR I am a Professional Tongue Biter {AOL Jobs}

Feb 6th 2010 4:35PM I have been in retail for over 20 years. (Ony worked Walmsrt for 8 long long days before I quit. Not because of customers but the other employees) I have always gone out of my way for my customers, whether working for someone else or my own companies. I have never held my tongue with rude customers. I have always been polite and helpful and if they continue to be rude I tell them that when they decide to calm down and behave like a proper adult, I will be more than happy to help them. Until then, thank you for shopping with us and have a wonderful day. It's rather entertaining for me to watch their shocked expression. Most of these customers either storm off (most have returned to shop later) or huff and puff for a few minutes then attempt to talk to me again. (During their huff n puff session, it gives me time to work on a solution for their problem.) As for the customer is always right....my customers know I am NOT a follower of that joke.

Girl, 12, Taken Away in Handcuffs for Doodling on Her Desk; Dept. of Ed. Admits To Excessive Punishment {ParentDish}

Feb 6th 2010 2:35AM I agree that the school did over-react...a LOT. But I do disagree with the many who are saying "it's just a desk." Yes many of us marked on our desks and Im sure most of us, like I did, received detention or cleaning duty for it. After I got cleaning duty I brought my sketch book to school with me everyday. Yes it's just a desk but would you be saying the same thing if it was "just your neighbors car?" or it was "just your own garage door" that just got tagged? What if it was done with erasible markers....
