Sarah Palin Mocks Self, Journalists at Gridiron Dinner {Politics Daily}

Dec 7th 2009 4:20PM What drives the MSM nuts is that someone like Palin can be really politically effective--and yet not be an Ivy League Intellectual--like they all pretend to be.

JCPenney: "We Don't Do African-American Hair" {Blackvoices Main}

Nov 26th 2008 4:13PM The best thing to do would have been to tell the woman, yes, we'll be glad to do your hair, but we have no experience with Negroe hair, and cannot guarentee that the results will be satisfactory. Then, if the customer wants to be a guinea pig, that's her decision. If the salon were truely racist, they could gladly do her hair and deliberately mess it up. The word would spread among Afro-Americans and they would not go to that salon "because they don't know how to do our hair." Problem solved either way.

Smart Ways to Handle Annoying Party Guests {Lemondrop}

Nov 12th 2008 9:00PM Do you notice the theme that runs through this entire series of "solutions"? To lie to people in order to control their obnoxious behavior.

What ever happend to confronting a problem by telling the truth. Tell an obnoxious guest he is obnoxious--and aksing him to shape up or ship out?

Oh dear, is that to "judgemental," too "confrontational," or (gasp) to "controversial?"

Well get over it. Life is far too short to put up with *ssholes. So confront them with their objectionable behavor and but short shrift to their disruption. And if they don;t oblige--physically kick them out.

Oct 10th 2008 1:21PM I notice Magic chooses to pontificate instead of volunteering to settle the issue positively (by getting an AIDS test).

TSA theft: Washington, D.C., travelers find many of their claims denied {Gadling}

Mar 11th 2008 3:11PM I had $110 worth of pharmaceuticals (pills) stolen from my suitcase, which was misplaced and delivered 3 days late. I filed a claim with the Boston Small Claims court. The airline (AA) paid the full amount the day before the hearing, and kicked in a $300 travel voucher. The system works.

Sony's Almost-Paper-Thin OLED-TV Coming to U.S. {Switched.com}

Jan 11th 2008 9:15AM Motorola's "NED" was actually an "FED"--Field Emission display--tiny emitters formed millions of cathodes that sprayed electrons to a phosphor screen only a few millimeters away. It was lke packing a million tiny CRTs together, and would have given a CRT-like image. Scientists still believe that emissive displays--like CRTs and PDPs (plasma) are more acceptable to the eye. Thus, the enthusiasm for OLED.
