An inspirational bike ride across America {Gadling}

Feb 25th 2012 3:33PM So this is what it takes to get the medias attention? I just happened to be in Baltimore when I saw on the local TV an interview with a young man, Paul Lebell who was doing Bikefree.org. His mission was to ride from Baltimore to California to raise funds for the children of our fallen troops. The goal was to make the kids a little happy by giving them a new bicycle. He did it, that would have been two years ago in June. He gave away hundreds of bikes to these little kids and never a mention from the national media. Not one mention by the press.
When I saw it on the local TV I decided that I was going to meet this young man. I was staying just a few blocks from where he was departing in the Baltimore Harbor. I asked him about his job. He said that he had been told that there would always be a place for him when he returned to the city. He had also started a dance party, had invested thousands, and that it was finally making money. He told me that on a "hand-shake" it had been agreed that when he returned it would all be his again, that the other people would just be running it for him. I said "and if they don't, your regular job and your club?" He said, " it won't matter, I will not always have a chance to help the children, I can always get a job."
You guessed it. He biked across America, to Portland and then south to San Diego where he gave out the first batch of bicycles. This was all on his website and may still be. The happy faces of these children made me very happy. What a good thing this lad did. When he returned to Baltimore; No job. His dance club, stolen in the name of money. That hand shake ment nothing. However, I feel he knows how much it ment to the children to whom he was able to give bicycles and to those people who had donated to the mission. To me, this is real giving from the heart. I hope some one in Baltimore is reading this, maybe his email is still up on the Bikefree.org web site. Make him an offer, "good deeds should be rewarded" in the here and now.

Marc Anthony treats 'Q'Viva' staff to vacation, brings smiles to Dominican kids {Celestrellas}

Dec 21st 2011 6:10PM I just happened to be there at the time. They stayed at Casa de Campo where we keep a little home.

They were drunk and loud and showed no respect to others. They were plain rude to the staff; maids and waiters and treated them like dirt.

We flew out the next day. Effing trash.

Dec 17th 2011 12:21PM After seeing your picture, I bet it has been longer than two years; more like NEVER!

You are fat, I mean obese to the extreme. How can any person allow themselves to be 400 pounds, 300 of which is fat.

I know you can't help your looks but you are really ugly. Somewhere out there is something for you. Let me suggest that you join a kennel club. Other dogs will love you if you give them love.

Ugggg. Fat and Ugly and you advertise yourself?

Dec 17th 2011 12:14PM Great idea! Let's all go to Iran for a vacation. Does the State Department, and the Islamic Republic of Iran even allow for a visa?

I have been there, long ago. The food is great.

Dec 17th 2011 12:08PM We are going to start a chain of these caves starting next year. It is the name that we are unable to decide on. Our "Madison Avenue" over paid experts are suggesting "Cave-Dwellers," and "Neanderthal Suites." What do you all think? Should we run a contest for this; do people care enough to enter?
Thank you for the help.
Personally, I can't see it. I would much rather have a room with a view, the higher up the better as in the Penthouse suites in our grand hotels.
The demographic studies show that there is a great demand for this.

Family Wrongly Booted From Home Returns To Wreckage {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 1st 2011 1:24PM What in the world? Why is it that so many Americans have lost their courage, their guts, their willingness to fight for their personal rights?

The day before Thanksgiving I saw on the television a warning; no, a "DO NOT Do," on deep frying the turkey. It was a video, high dollar, of a man in an asbestos outfit in a fire proof room with all the stuffing. Under to conditions are you, as an American, to deep fry your turkey! It had the room in flames.

That message was brought to us by "HomeLand Security." Now they are in our backyard. I would like to know how many Americans decided to follow the rule of HomeLand and decided to oven-roast rather than deep frying.

Dec 1st 2011 1:13PM Good and obvious point, thank you for making it so simple.
They should, as you say, only need an " attorney with half a brain." I understand that there are many lawyers on that level; so the old yellow pages and a dart should do the trick.

Former Citigroup CEO Sandy Weill's Central Park Penthouse Hits Market at $88 Million {AOL Real Estate}

Nov 11th 2011 5:17PM It is people like Weill who make me sick. He has some over powering need for other people to consider him to be a great, caring, and giving person. Big deal; he sells his apartment, buys another a tad smaller and then donates the money; what's left to some so called "charity" like Carnegie Hall. He then writes the donation off on his taxes. Isn't he just the greatest person in the city. Hell, we should change the name of ifth Ave. to his name for his great humanitarian act. He is changing lives, making the world so much better, give that man a Nobel prize or two or three. The presidents of several countries need to pin medals on him for his great deed.

Let me clue you in Weill. The deal about giving is to do just that. Do it without calling your PR firm, press agent and the media. Just do it on the QT and shut the hell up about it. That is "giving." Your name doen't have to be on it. You cannot buy your way into heaven, if you even believe in it.

Vacant House Targeted by Squatters, Scammers and Thieves {AOL Real Estate}

Nov 11th 2011 4:54PM Is this all so? Are we now living in the days of the wild west? Are we now a lawless society? Has our society forgotten right and wrong? Has this attitude of "me-first," me-only, selfishness,to hell with the other people taken over our culture? Is it to the point where number one is the center of the universe and to hell with everybody else? Is it get whatever one can get and screw every body else? Is the "Golden Rule" dead? Is our society going to hell in a hand basket? Are parents raising their children to be self-centered, ego-centric little people?

Nov 11th 2011 4:45PM Good post, great points, you are brilliant.
One question: Does this stated house sit isolated, deep in the woods, high on a mountain, hidden from view, or are there neighbors; as in people living next door? If so, are they able to speak?
