Would You Take Pregnancy Hormones to Lose Weight? {That's Fit}

Mar 15th 2011 11:59AM I am on the HCG diet and am on my 3rd round of it. I have lost 80 pounds and feel and look great. The people who are putting down this diet need to read DR SIMEONS manuscript. What is targeted is abnormal fat. It teaches you to eat healthier by cutting out starches, fat and sugar. When you go off of it for 6 weeks you find you do not need or want those things back in your body so you continue to eat healthy. When I am off of the HCG I exercise and continue to eat healthy but up my calories to around 1000 or sometimes a little more. I have had no bad side effects and I am not hungry when I am on the diet. I have done a lot of research on this diet. It has been around for many years and Dr. Simeon did trials for 20 years. If it was not safe you would hear of deaths attributed to this diet and this seems to be the only diet that there have been no deaths attributed to. I will continue to use it until I reach my goal weight and after that I will continue to eat healthy and exercise. For those who gained it back they apparently learned nothing and went right back to doing what made them fat in the first place. As with any diet, once you lose the weight you have to continue to eat healthy and incorporate exercise into your daily life.

The Controversy Over 'Busty' Barbie and Our Idolatry of Hookers {BV Black Spin}

May 26th 2010 3:04PM Here is a thought...If you don't like the Barbies then don't buy one! For mothers who are worried about the impression it will leave on their daughters... Don't buy one for your daughter! There are always options in life. Maybe the next Barbie that comes out can be an overweight Barbie with boobs that sag to her knees. Would that make people feel better??? It is a piece of plastic!!! With wars going on in the world, hunger, people losing their jobs, homes and personal possessions I think worrying about the cleavage of a piece of plastic says some people need to thank God they have nothing more to worry about. Maybe they could take the time they spend worrying about the boobs on a piece of plastic and use it to help people in their community who may be suffering through a real life crisis.

Upside-Down Gardening: Fab or Fad? {Shelterpop}

May 26th 2010 9:38AM I use the topsy/turvy which sells for $9. I have used them for 3 years now without a problem. I bought 2 tomato plants this year and put one in the upside down planter and one in the ground. The hanging plant already has 10 tomatoes on it while the one in the ground has none so far. This year I am also using the planters for peppers and beans and it is working better than what is planted in the ground. Plus the plants in the ground I have to fight weeds and bugs - no problems for the hanging plants. I will go with the upside down planters any day!

Should ABC Save 'Ghost Whisperer' and 'The New Adventures of Old Christine'? {AOL TV}

May 21st 2010 9:44AM ABC has cancelled enough of their own shows that they will have open time slots for new shows.

Should ABC Save 'Ghost Whisperer' and 'The New Adventures of Old Christine'? {AOL TV}

May 21st 2010 9:30AM Totally agree!!! It is the only show I watch on Friday nights. There are so many ways the story could go on that show it would be a shame to cancel it now. Save the show and hire some creative writers it the old ones can't think of any more stories.

Nike ousted from University of Wisconsin {WalletPop}

Apr 29th 2010 9:24AM Maximus, if you hired someone to landscape your yard should you be held responsible for their business practices now and in the future if you did not know what those practices are? If the landscaper lays off an employee should you have to pay that employees severance pay??? Nike is a sportswear designer not a textile manufacturer. In order to get their products made they have to use companies based in Honduras since there are no more here in the US. Their only other option would be to go out of business and lay of the tens of thousands of employees they have here in the US and I don't think we need even more people unemployeed since unemployment is at it's highest since the 20's. They do not have the option of going into another person's business and finding out what that business is planning on doing in the future. They can only assume it will comply with standards and laws and they are not responsible if it does not. As for the workers returning to agriculture, that does not happen. I went to Honduras and saw the effects of textile manufacturers who had closed shop. The people live in handmade shacks anywhere they can find to put one up including under bridges. They have no money to buy land so they sit on street corners begging or using children to beg. They turn to stealing and prostitution. They get no help from their government because it is a corrupt government. They no more turn to agriculture than the people here in the US do that have lost their jobs. So closing all of those companies would only add insult to injury. Our government is responsible for the whole mess. Both democrats and republicans have passed AFTA, NAFTA and CAFTA which allows these companies to move out of the US and use slave labor in 3rd world countries. Want to blame someone? Blame the US Government.

Nike ousted from University of Wisconsin {WalletPop}

Apr 28th 2010 10:42PM I have to take Nike's side on this. Nike deals with many companies that create sportswear for them but they do not own those companies. I used to work for one of those companies that moved to Honduras. Nike did not own the company I worked for but contracted for sportswear to be made for them as did many, many other companies including Walmart and Ambercombie. Nike and the other companies are simply buyers and do not make a profit from the textile companies unless they have bought stock in that company, which they may or may not have done. The owners of those textile companies are the ones who are responsible for the severance pay.

Jesse James Mistress Number Two Writes Letter to Sandra Bullock {PopEater}

Apr 26th 2010 9:55AM I agree everyone makes mistakes. If they truly want forgiveness then they need to confess in church to a priest / preacher, not to the media. It is obvious they are seeking more attention and hurting Sandra even more by keeping their names in media publications. What makes them think she would ever want to meet with them and talk to them about what they did with her husband? Their 15 minutes are over and they need to quit adding insult to injury.

'Brady Bunch' Reunion Nixed Over Feud {PopEater}

Mar 1st 2010 11:13AM I think they both need to grow up and start acting like adults. Let the past go and play nicely. Can't everyone just get along???????
