We all know that when the immigrants came to the U.S. to Ellis Island, if the employees couldn't pronounce their names, they shortened them or gave them a new name. So if you don't like the name, sue the company!

It only comes once a year,and if yur so stuck on men should be men and women should be women, here's somethin' for ya, My dad said that when people are stubborn, before their spirits came to earth, God said he was giving out brains. All the stubborn and stupid people thought He said He was giving out trains and they already had a set.

Sep 16th 2010 5:04AM I couldn't see the video because of copyright claim but I believe in ghosts. In 1976 I was in Princess Anne, Maryland with some friends and a metal detector. I had a strong signal and we pulled a crosscut saw out of the ground. Rather 1/2 of one. It was rather rusty and our friend said he had a friend who could test it to see how old it was. We took it to our friend's house which is about 250 years old and built of river rock. He and another friend went to the supermarket so it was me and another friend of mine. My friend decided to take a nap and all the bedrooms are upstairs. I sat in a recliner and checked out some magazines. I saw someone come down the stairsand he was medium build, bald, wearing blue jeans and a plaid shirt and boots, like a lumberjack. And he was pissed! I ran out of the house so fast. We took the blade back where we found it and I tripped on something. It turned out to be a headstone. All the headstones were lying down and had a carpet of leaves on them about a foot deep. I reburied the blade and I was no longer haunted by this ghost.

Jun 25th 2010 1:28AM My father was the manager for the La Costa Hotel and Spa in Carlsbad for I think 10 to 15 years after he retired from the Navy. They hired him because if you had a BIG problem, he could give you a solution in about 5 minutes. One day, we got a phone call at the house. I answered it and the person said she was Cheryl Tiegs with Farrah Fawcett and they wanted to talk with my dad. I thought it was a prank call and was about to hang up when my dad asked who it was on the phone. I told him someone says she's Cheryl Tiegs with Farrah Fawcett. I told him must be a prank. Before I could hang up, he grabbed the reciever out of my hand and had a 30 minute conversation with Cheryl Tiegs and Farrah Fawcett. He told me they were having a big golf tourney with a huge banquet and a lot of movie and tv stars were going to be there and he was in charge of it. That was my dad, god bless him.

Very good article. You also went to the same high school as I did but now they've turned it into an academy for mentally gifted minors and have built another San Dieguito Union High School in La Costa in Carlsbad. There was talk of demolishing the school because it was built in the 1930's as a CCC project and that some of the buildings weren't safe anymore. I think they just wanted to build another school. Anyways, take care of yourself and trust in the Lord.

They sold a lot of them to the Amish and she said she had no qualms and fostered no hatred for the Amish. If people are so mad about the horse manure they leave behind, make 'em wear diapers like the mounted police do in the city. Make it an ordinance. They fail to do it, they get a ticket. She said the Amish communities that she saw never had any "puppy mills". Just hard working men and women, trying to make a living and praising God as they did so.

Apr 13th 2010 4:29AM That word's been tossed around for centuries and NOW you're getting upset about it? The only R movie I see is monster flicks or ghostie flicks. I hear enough of that talk comin' out of the mouths of the teenagers who think it's "cool" to swear. Like it's cool to drink when you're 14 or smoke when you're 13 or have sex when you're 12. They live in my neighborhood and it a shame to see. When they get into middle school years, they start taking drugs, some in elemetry school.By the time they get to high school, they're hooked on crack, meth, heroine. No matter what you try to do, they won't listen to you. Their way or the highway.

Mar 27th 2010 4:41AM I remember that. I read it in a magazine in the VA hospital here in Boise, Idaho and let me tell you, the vets were spittin' mad. They were ready to lynch Osama when they read that. Most of the vets here are WW2 and Vietnam and a smattering of Iraq and Afghanistan. They voluntarily went there except for the Vietnam Vets who were drafted, and I bet they spilled a lot of blood over there. This comment taken from a president who has NEVER served in the military. I think that should be a requirement to serve as president, you must serve in the military.
