'Genderless' Baby Raises a Storm of Controversy {ParentDish}
May 26th 2011 5:38PM Always sad to see parents who think experimenting with their children is a good idea. The child's sex is an integral part of who that child is and it is the parent's job to guide and affirm the child so they do not suffer role-confusion later on. I feel these parents are cheating this child out of a solid identity and I fail to see how this is beneficial to the child's development. It's also interesting to ponder who the paretns are ultimately doing this for: the child or their own notoriety?
Living in the Other Woman's House {Shelterpop}
Jan 8th 2011 12:37PM Agreed. I didn't really understand her angst since she herself has so many exes. Maybe the bottom line really is that this will never truly be the author's house, since her boyfriend has not yet made her his wife. She is simply sharing his living space and when it's over, she will be the one to be out, not him. Surely on some level she knows that. I would advise her not to fall too much in love with this house, since she is just a roommate, not a co-owner.
Too Much Sun Exposure? The Best New Ways to Repair UV Damage {Stylelist}
Aug 27th 2010 7:22PM Well, I am about to turn 52 (yikes!) and have had to realize with a bit of shock over the last year (when I went back to college) that I am no longer young! I feel young, thought I looked young, but have finally realized that truly young people think I am old! Me? Well, now that I have had to admit that the estrogen that kept my face looking youthful is finally gone, it has been depressing watching time show it's lines across my face. The sun damage is becoming quite evident. Most of the sunburns I had were from when I was little, always playing outside, and who ever heard of sunblock back then? It was a rare day and a real treat if my mother even let us use her coppertone suntan oil, which has an SPF of 2! I can't accept these lines and discolorations because I have always been considered pretty, but the last time I had an oxygen peel facial, she did extractions and permanently caused deep pores on my nose that will never go away or fill in. I refuse to go back there, though the peels really did help.I am ashamed to tell you how much I have spent on quackery lotions, creams, scrubs, oils, peptides, retinol, etc. over the last year to improve my appearance. I am beginning to believe all this talk about fixing it is a crock, and once you have wrinkles and lines, it is forever.
Slate Reporter Says Phoebe Prince's Death By Bullying Case More Complex Than It Seems {ParentDish}
Jul 22nd 2010 1:22AM Well said. First the bullys' parents and now a reporter are trying to excuse and minimize what that animal pack did to Phoebe. The mentality seems to be, "Oh, she was already depressed, so what difference does it make if they destroy her a little more every day? After all, she self-mutilates." What a crock! I hope the family gets justice for Phoebe and that young people learn that they need to think about others and not just themselves! With their parents downplaying what they did, I doubt they will learn a thing.
I Left My Boyfriend Because He Didn't Want a Baby {Lemondrop}
Jul 3rd 2010 9:35PM I agree. She sounds obsessed. Frankly, I think the writer became much too serious much too fast with someone she hardly knew then threw away what, 4 years of her life, apparently 2.5 years of them focused on having a child, depressed and raging and jealous. It's sad. Maybe next time it would be a good idea to find a man who actually wants to spend the rest of his life with you (via marriage) before starting to obsess about what you want from him (via his sperm). I think you need to re-evaluate your priorities and I also question your friends who "didn't tell you what to do." They should have!
Have We Become Too Casual? Why I Dress My Kids Up for Church {ParentDish}
Jun 10th 2010 10:35AM Rachel,
I loved what you wrote. We always dress nicely when we go to church which is usually weekly, however, my kids have been allowed to wear more casual clothes, starting as teens. I think I allowed it because that is what their peers were wearing and why have a major argument on Sunday morning on what to wear? I am thankful they do at least go. I agree completely with you that God deserves nothing less than our best, from our attitudes and love right down to honoring him with our words and our appearance. Thank you for a beautiful tribute to our precious Lord and Savior.

May 9th 2010 2:57AM I am so delighted to read the comments by my fellow patriots and Tea Party enthusiasts. We are indeed the very guardians of Liberty. I was thinking this morning, when was the last time (or even the first time) you ever heard any Democrat or Obama himself talk about FREEDOM. Betcha can't remember, because I sure can't. What is going on in this country now is CONTROL, not freedom. They are trying to turn us into little robots, good for as long as we make money for them, then when we get old, spit us out and let us die. Why do you think they are doing the government run health care. They are going to kill the old people by denying them medical treatments. It is so obvious I can't believe there is one person reading this that cant't see right through it. For God's sake wake up! Join the Tea Party and take a stand to save this country that once represented true liberty and freedom. Once it is completely gone it will be too late. We can still save our nation, fellow patriots.

May 9th 2010 2:39AM I am a proud member of the Tea Party. The Obama administration is trying so hard to shut us down by protraying us (through the government-owned media ) as morons but guess what? It ain't gonna work. You people who watch MSNBC---do you really want to give all your money to the Federal government? Do you really want to compete against illegal immigrants or even legal ones for your job? Have you ever asked yor self why you trust Obama and the Democratic fiends rather than YOURSELF to make decisions regarding your health and welfare? Wake up! Then join your local Tea Party. God save America because we are dying fast.
Teen Athlete Claims She Was Benched for Pregnancy {ParentDish}
Dec 8th 2009 7:08PM He was wrong to inform the team, but I do NOT think it is the school coach's job to "nurture" pregnant athletes!! Good grief. If she falls down on her stomach and miscarries, her parents will be the first ones to sue the school and coach to pay for the daughter's (and baby's) college education. I don't like what the coach did particularly, but does everything that does not go our way have to have government intervention. No wonder the government is getting ready to control us from the cradle to the grave, it's because of people like this!
