First-Grade Teacher Cuts Off Student's Braid {ParentDish}

Dec 15th 2009 2:10PM It is a shame, a teacher cannot deal with a little bead flipping. There is so many different ways this could have been hanle in a more responilbe manner.
This child is not doubt going to have to go to the beauty parlor to have her hair fixed. And the teacher should pay for it.
The teacher assaulted this child, she should serve a little jail time.
The teacher also lied to this child. The teacher should not be a teacher.
If a teacher should cut my childs hair, I know I would sue her.
If this little girl was not black, maybe her parents would sue. Did anyone, stop to think about that.
My daughter is a teacher, she would never do anything so irresponible to her children.

First-Grade Teacher Cuts Off Student's Braid {ParentDish}

Dec 15th 2009 1:36PM I read most of these comments. I cannot believe how anyone can say it is okay to cut a child's hair for a punishment. Yes, children need punishments, but this way out of line. I do not see why it is wrong for a first grader to in trouble just because she was playing with her hair. All first graders tend to this if they are nervous or just because they are kids.
The teacher should not be able to use the words she was stressed out. She was dumb, selfish, and thoughtless.
If a teacher was to cut my child's hair, there would be a big deal made about it. The child now has to cut all of her hair to look right. What a shame. This child has pride like us all. The child no doubt feels very bad inside.
I do not understand how people can say this is not a big deal, lets cut everyone's hair who stresses us out a little.
That is the problem with our society, it is okay to be stupid when one feels stressed. It was so wrong.

Food stamp use skyrockets: How one family puts food on the table {WalletPop}

Nov 30th 2009 6:38AM Doing my life, I have been on food stamps, kids got half priced lunch and sometimes free lunch.
My husband was a soldier. Back than a soldier did not make as much money as they do today.
I stuck with potatoes, home fried eggs, no bacon, no fast foods. Who wants salty fast foods, that does not taste good anyway. Beans is the best food, they have more vitamens than any other food.
Back than applebutter was cheaper than jelly. So, my kids had applebutter sandwhiches and was happy. Once a month a bought them a package of cookes and gave them one a day.
I remeber for a spell my parents was on food stamps, than we got actual food, which was good. My father hated when food stamps came out. That was supposed to help people feel free to get assistance.
Food assistance was the last thing my jparents wanted to do, but feeding the family came first. My father was a farmer and things just went South for him as he got older. He started out as a father at the age of fourty.
I also, had a friend who;s father was to proud to ask for assistance. His wife cried everynight with pain. They ate nothing but beans and potatoes and what they planted in their little garden. When I visted they offered me food, but I ate just enough so as not to insult them.
Those who do not want to help, should not judge, someday you may be walking in the same shoes.

Ruby Tuesday polishes its image and takes casual dining up a notch {WalletPop}

Nov 10th 2009 8:13AM My daugher and her husband, and two young sons. They had a shocker, it cost them one hundred dollars.
My daughter order lemonade, they came around refilled her glass without asking and than charged her. It does not sound very nice to me. Plus the waitress hung around the table, pushing them to order fast, so they fell for that and did not have the time to look at the menu.
My daugher has to get use to all of the resturant tricks, for she just arrived in the U.S. from Italy. So, I got a good laugh out of it.

Serena Williams: Powerful, Nude and Possibly Banned from Australian Open {BV on Sports}

Oct 22nd 2009 11:18AM I think she should be banned not because of her nude picture. But because she sounds like a trouble. We have enough trouble at events, which is a disgrace to or sports.

What's the Proper Punishment for the Parents of 'Balloon Boy'? {Politics Daily}

Oct 19th 2009 4:17PM I feel the parents should have to pay for all of the money used to look for their child. Some jail time would be fitting also.
Sending the child to a foster home is insane. His home is not dangerous. To many kids in foster homes are neglected much worse, even raped and killed. I would the child has a better home right now.
