Seattle Woman Collected Welfare in $1.2 Million House {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 6th 2011 6:21PM The sad thing is people like this ruin it for people who are truly in need. Due to unexpected disabilities (my husband and I both) we rely on food stamps while I try and find work (almost impossible for the newly hearing disabled) and to college. I reported all our income including financial aid and ours got cut almost $200 a month because of the financial aid even though that goes mainly to textbooks and gasoline, I have to feed 4 people 3 meals a day on less than $300... people like this make it harder and harder for people who do the right thing to get aid and cause new laws or rules that harm the people following the rules...

Best Vanilla Ice Cream: Our Taste Test Results {Slashfood}

Aug 14th 2010 5:58PM I have to disagree with the Breyers choice...I love vanilla ice cream and have tried just about every brand there is. Breyers was gritty, had a strange flavor and left a filmy coated feeling in my mouth after eating it....all of my family agreed too and they are totally sweet addicts.

Disney breaks the $80 barrier with another ticket price increase {WalletPop}

Aug 4th 2010 2:04PM I agree another price hike is crazy in this economy and that Disney does too often raise prices but you have to think of what they output too. They have hundreds if not thousands of daily employees. Then they have the employees that work after the park closes inspecting all rides, cleaning up, fixing daily problems, etc. The expenses alone to run the park , gas, electric, etc I imagine are astronomical. As for parking prices, crazy yes, but the cost to build and maintain those parking structures likely is barely covered by the parking fees.
Disney also has to deal with hundreds of frivolous lawsuits too. According to an interview done a few years ago, Disney pays out millions yearly in lawsuits, and many of those Disney isnt even the ones at fault, but they pay to keep up a good image. I know of roughly 20 lawsuits that Disney had paid where the person was completely at fault and not Disney but they did it to protect Disneys image.
Yes they are a for profit business, name a business that isnt, but people expect a certain standard when they go to the parks and it costs for them to uphold those standards.
One thing I do agree on is that the souvenirs have gotten so cheap. I remember when the shirts would last for years and the toys and hats and such the same and now they are junk, same with they crystal shop, they used to have the best handblown glass items I had ever seen and now its factory made junk.

D'Angelo Breaks Silence, Says New Album is Coming {The Boombox}

Jun 28th 2010 5:00AM I remember the video only cause the guy was so into himself it was amusing....But when I read the headline I had no idea who he was, I listen to all kinds of music and I dont really recall him being popular for his music...but more so for the video because there were a lot of complaints about it.

CariDee English Reveals Pictures of Her Painful Battle with Psoriasis: '70% of My Body was Covered' {Stylelist}

Jun 14th 2010 8:06PM My Mom suffered for this for years, just as bad as Caridees'. She tried everything over the years, I remember as a child her taking what she called tar baths (never worked) but man they stunk and as the years went on she found some creams that worked...for a while...pills, injections, in fact had been on all the various treatments mentioned in the posts on here, One thing that many Doctors dont mention or downplay when they give you these meds is in long term use causes organ damage. Internal and external. The skin is an organ. She lost a lot of her eyesight due to the meds, she had damage to her uterus, kidneys, etc from them and her skin became so thin that tucking her shirt into her pants could cause her to literally tear her skin like paper, bumping into anything, a cart at the store, a chair anything would cause heavy bruising and tears too and when these would heal it would leave a dark, blood blister color looking scar. The creams and Kanalog injections were the worse for this. Yet she still preferred that to the psoriasis.
So any out there seeking treatment, ask about long term effects these meds can cause, it may save you a lot of pain in the long run.

Don't Play Ball With State of Arizona {Fanhouse - Kevin Blackistone}

May 1st 2010 5:55PM The person above that mentions that illegals are a reason that Social Security is not bankrupt due to paying taxes on their false or stolen social security numbers it think is in serious errors on that one. Yes one may be paying into social security with his illegally gotten number but its very likely that 5 or more are drawing or trying to draw Social Security on that same number. They tend to use numbers of young (most likely) working Americans that wont be trying to draw benefits for many years. Most of the time these people are only caught when the true holder of the number ends up on Social Security at a younger age than expected.
My husband was seriously injured and had to go on Social Security at a young age, mid 20s. He had been working steadily from the time he was 15 so he qualified for Social Security and not SSI. He got approved in Feb. the year after he applied but they didnt release his benefits until August because he had to prove who he was even though they had all his legal paperwork. He actually had to prove he wasnt 6 other people who were all trying to draw Social Security under his number. All the names were foreign sounding names with 5 of the 6 being hispanic sounding names.
To me that doesnt sound like illegals contributing to social security benefits...thats sound like 6 of them trying to draw off my husbands hard work. BTW It is unknown how they got the number or if they just used random numbers, social security never provided us with that info.

Don't Play Ball With State of Arizona {Fanhouse - Kevin Blackistone}

May 1st 2010 4:27PM I have been reading everyones posts and although most have good points regarding both sides of the issue, I have to agree with those who side with Az. on this one. It is not a law that "racial" profiles hispanics as most seem to think, it enacts laws already in place. In fact any person who cannot prove they legally live in the US can be detained...that doesnt mean hispanics alone.That means any race that is here illegally.
As for the comments that a few have made on how they take jobs no one wants and its not hurting anyone....that is both wrong and right. They take jobs no one wants at the wages those places will ILLEGALLY pay. By taking jobs from employers that dont follow the minimum wage laws they actually depress the economy. I am more than willing to work as a "busboy", or mow lawns or clean houses, motel rooms or whatever as are most Americans that need work. Yes we want those jobs to pay minimum wage, that is why a minimum wage is set. Going against it depresses the economy, hurting working Americans every where.
As for the one who said they help the economy...what rock did you crawl out from under? I researched through many many articles, polls and writing to find what I could on that. Yes there are a lot of false articles out there and hundreds that cant be proven, but I did find one in the La times (disputing the internet circling article) but they did break down costs or plus on illegals in LA County only and when all was said and done illegals in La County still cost tax payers over $5 billion dollars a year. Now that is one county....multiply that over several states and their counties.
As for the writer of this article comparing this law with South Africa.....can you get anymore stupid??? I cant see where asking someone for ID or proof they are citizens even come close to a country that beat, starved, killed , etc, people of their own country. All Az. is asking is for you to prove you belong in our country and if not then you go back to your own country. Plain and simple.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer Signs Tough Immigration Law {Politics Daily}

Apr 23rd 2010 10:54PM California needs a law like this! Over 5 billion a year is spent as a result of illegal immigrants (all, not just hispanic). There is an article written in the LA Times that breaks it down. it was written feb 2nd 2009 in the LA Times...look it up.

Zekery... If you come from a hispanic family, how can you be in favor of this, ..! So it was ok for your family to come here illegally and get a chance for a better life, but not ok for someone else?? **************************************************************************** ***************************
How do you know Zekery's family came here illegally? They may have gone through all the immigration paperwork and such to be legally here. You dont know!
I live in a area with a high amount of illegals and it drives me batty, but I have to say a lot of the legal immigrants here hate the illegals too and are not very nice about it either. People who have done the right thing to be here often do not like the ones that dont..you might be surprised at how much.

Mariann Donato Entry #2: The Makeover {AOL Jobs}

Mar 11th 2010 1:09AM I feel for this woman, I know how hard it is to find a job the way things are now. For all those that say go back to school, well time is a big factor, we need jobs now, not 2 or 4 yrs down the road. Not to mention the criteria for getting a degree is so changed from what we were taught way back when that it requires even more time and classes to catch up to the kids just starting college now. Its not as easy as so many make it sound. Yes it can be done. Just not as easily as it sounds.
