Aug 6th 2009 2:30AM I have to admit, I bought a leash for my active 3-year old when we took a trip to the Grand Canyon. I did not want him running off and over the edge.

As far as this instance, she should have picked him up, left the store (without finishing her transaction) and finished punishment at home. He got what he wanted - attention. And he'll do it again. When he's 15, he'll be proud of the video that was viewed millions of times and that his mom was arrested for his outburst.

This was in the South ... where corporal punishment is the norm. I won't go into demographics, but let's just say these are the folks who invented "sassy sauce" (tobasco sauce or witch hazel or worse) to rinse their child's mouth out.

For those who have lost children, this is painful to see. They are a precious gift and we are given the priviledge of being their parents. This woman needs counseling - and her child will, too. Hopefully it's not too late before there is an even more drastic story about her lack of parenting skills.

SAve the racier things for inside the store where customers can shop discreetly. They have many beautiful things they can tastefully display in the windows of their stores.

Aug 8th 2007 6:52PM Aside from the health benefits of breastfeeding, it's a wonderful way to bond with your baby if you are physically capable. And such a natural way to feed and comfort them.

I had two different experiences with my children. My first was very easy to nurse... but my second son wouldn't latch on correctly, I had infections, etc. I'm thankful I didn't give up on the process. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
