School Banishes Cupcakes, Happiness {Lemondrop}
Oct 16th 2008 1:28AM It seems to me that sweets used to be a special treat. Now kids get treats all the time. They get them at home, at school, at daycare, at the sitter's, and even at the doctor's and dentist's office. If cupcakes were truly a once-in-a-while treat, there would be no problem with childhood obesity. Besides, elementary schools used to have two or more recess periods a day, where kids ran off their steam. A little extra carbohydrate not only wasn't a bad thing, it was necessary. Now we have kids who are sugar and fat overloaded, and for "recreation," they sit around playing passive video games. Instead of milk and juice, we offer PowerAde and GatorAde in the lunch line. And you wonder why schools are banning cupcakes????
Garth Brooks Reportedly Coming Out of Retirement {PopEater}
Aug 5th 2007 3:59PM My goodness! So much hype, then so much anger, then so much gushing! I read the article with interest. Ok, Garth Brooks has decided to come out of retirement, again. Ok, so he is going to go back to work. Lucky for him that he has that luxury. Some people HAVE to work every day of their lives, and can't ever retire. I wonder when we, as Americans, will stop obsessing over celebrities? I like Garth Brooks' music. I don't think he is worth the energy some people are expressing here. Relax and go hug a U.S. Service Man or Woman.
How Thieves Make Fake Credit Cards {Switched}
Aug 3rd 2007 12:20PM I can't figure out why credit cards aren't required to post my picture or my finger print on my card. We have the technology, and as was stated earlier, "it is hard to fake a face.
