Mar 15th 2010 1:46PM Hasn't NBC been whining about the cost of dramas? And wasn't that the reason for squeezing out some fine programs that weren't on long enough to get a foothold ("Journeyman," "Life," and "Southland," just to mention a few)? And now they're talking about taking on "24?" ABC did the same thing, removing "Eli Stone" and "Pushing Daisies," citing costs. But I'm guessing "V" cost a little bit more to produce than either of these shows? Perhaps it's time to scour the continents of Asia and Africa for monkeys to do the prime time programming; I don't think they could do any worse.

Mar 15th 2010 1:08PM Well, judging from the garbage that was her show, I'm going to have to go with her being one of the dumbest human beings alive. I found it especially sad that she tried to be "so young, so hip" in choosing her fashion and hairstyle when actually she looked like a fool. And those awful garage bands she had on her show.... I was glad when she took a powder from the public airways, especially after she testified during a murder trial of one of her guests for killing another. Her testimony feigning ignorance was pathetic. I was hoping she had found work vacuuming office buildings after hours.

Mar 13th 2010 7:48PM Keep in mind that not everyone in every field needs to get an advanced degree. While learning for the sake of learning is a wonderful thing, it comes with an ever-increasing pricetag, and it's a pricetag that you have to be prepared to pay. (Some companies help with earning degrees, although I suspect the number of companies doing so is waning, given the economy.)

Another thing: Ask yourself why you are seeking a more advanced degree. If it is simply for more money or (eventual "prestige"), then put it off until you can better afford it.

While it is true that he says some of the most vile things, it is because of the years of alcohol abuse (and God knows what else he may have put into his system) that has damaged his brain. (Ever see one of his crying jags that comes out of nowhere? Ever notice how he can be manic one moment and flat in the next?) Instead of encouraging people to leave their churches, he should be asking them to pray for him so that he may hopefully shed some of the many demons that seem to torture his soul. Psychotropic medications and a psychiatrist might also help him through this dark, although ironically lucrative, time in his life. And those who encourage him remind me of those who shout "jump" when they see someone standing on the ledge of a building. I find it all very sad....
