Recall: Young Artist Easels Violate Lead Standards {ParentDish}

Nov 7th 2009 1:54PM Gripe all you like about things that are made in China. But don't kid
yourself. It is getting harder and harder to find things that weren't
made there. Anyone who says he/she doesn't buy things made in China is a liar--or deluded. I have searched high and low for different items that I desperately wanted only to find that they were made in China and, after putting off my purchases for a couple of years until I could wait no longer for an American manufacturer--or at least a country of origin that was not China, I had to give up and bite the bullet. I remember being told that we would have to give up the thought that we were a manufacturing country (higher wages) and get used to being a service country (lower wages). Then they started exporting tech support overseas, along with banking support, lab support, and a host of other things that we don't even know anything about. Swell.

Saga of Animal Control Officer Who Gave Away Lost Dog Ends Happily for Pet Owner {Pawnation}

Nov 7th 2009 1:42PM I don't buy the "let them off the hook for the kids" argument. Ever. These people pull these stunts knowing they have children. They know the devastating effect the things they do can have on others. And it's not as if she stole to take care of her children; she gave the dog away as a gift to her friend and lied all the way down the line. Prosecute, and let the chips fall where they may.

Olsen Twins' Beauty Brand To Close {Style List Blog}

Nov 7th 2009 1:31PM The irony is that they were associated with beauty products in the first place. This is the first picture I've seen of them in sometime that didn't show them with dark circles under their eyes. They are simply average looking girls (nothing wrong with that), but not whom I would think of as icons of beauty. Then again, the world flocked to Kate Moss at one time, didn't they?

NBA TV Analyst Calls Yi Jianlian a 'Chinaman,' Later Apologizes {Fanhouse NBA Blog}

Nov 7th 2009 12:22AM Wow. You are stupid. You hang yourself with your very words. People from England are English or Englishmen, not Englandmen; those from Ireland are Irish or Irishmen, not Ireland men, etc. People from China are Chinese, just those from Japan are Japanese--and not the invectives which you no doubt use for all people under the guise of free speech when simply treating people and addressing them in the manner they wish takes no more effort. You call it being "politically correct;" before that phrase came along, it was called having manners. How sad it is that you have lived this long and remain committed to your stupidity.

Nov 7th 2009 12:15AM Just looking at this guy, does this really surprise anyone? He's a rather dim looking fellow.

Savings Experiment: Does the Slap Chop beat a regular knife? {WalletPop}

Nov 6th 2009 11:46PM This should be called a Crap Chop, not Slap Chop. I got one of these years ago--before they came up with the clever name. And it is true that it is only good for one thing--chopping nuts. I don't remember what I paid for my gadget but now, instead of using it, when I need chopped nuts, I usually just watch television and break up the nut meats by hand. The purchase was a waste of money.

Ten Minutes to Wapner! 'People's Court' Judge to Return for His 90th Birthday {Inside TV Blog}

Nov 6th 2009 4:52PM I agree with Judge Wapner's assessment of "Judge" Judy; she is rude and insulting, obviously for the cameras. It is more like a circus than a courtroom. Judge Milian shows a sense of humor, but maintains control in her courtroom. She is currently the only judge on TV that really seems to take her job seriously.

Did Rihanna Wait Too Long to Talk? {Popeater}

Nov 5th 2009 9:47PM She had to wait until her latest album was ready for release. It's called marketing--sleazy marketing. I wouldn't be surpised if we see a "rise from the ashes" moment from him--possibly with the two of them releasing duet or two on that album. How special.
