'Happy Days' Patriarch Tom Bosley Dies at 83 {PopEater}

Oct 19th 2010 2:56PM RIP Mr. Bosley - I cannot understand why they did not bring up that he was Bosley on the TV series, Charlie's Angels. My parents introduced me to Tom Bosley when they were were playing the soundtrack for "LaGuardia." The man had a voice. My condolences to the Bosley family. He will be solely missed!

Shorts-Sporting WWII Vets Turned Away from Dallas Restaurant {Slashfood}

Oct 16th 2010 7:25PM Business casual means dressing professionally, looking relaxed yet neat and pulled together. This can be interpreted by many people in many different ways. Keep in mind that the restaurant's idea of business casual may be different from what someone's idea is. Whether the patrons are veterans or not, it was still up to the restaurant to make the final call. What will happen is that the restaurant will have a meeting to clarify things and this will probably won't happen again. I am glad that, for the sake of good public relations, the restaurant apologized to the family of the vets and offered to make amends.

Moviefone Minute: New 'Hobbit' Woes and a New 'Harry Potter' Book? Maybe? {Moviefone Blog}

Sep 29th 2010 12:41AM For those who believe that the Harry Potter books are evil. First of all, witches are called witches. Both a male and a female with are called just that, a witch. The term warlock was invented by the Witchcraft trials to describe a male witch, when, it fact that the word means traitor. Second of all, if you believe that that books teaches you about witchcraft, you obviously do not have a life. I seem to recall someone asking the Pope if he thought the books were evil, and he didn't think so. I suggest that before you start to make claims about the books or witchcraft in general, you get your facts straight first. I suggest the first place that you look is the library since the movies are all fabrications.

Interview With a Witch Mom {ParentDish}

Sep 20th 2010 4:23PM I have been a practicing pagan since 1987. I am a parent of 2 children, one boy and one girl. I have always raised my children in the craft. We are not freaks. We are not cultists. And, for the record, for those ignorant fools who believe that we worship Satan, we do not. We believe in the concept of balance. We just don't believe in the mainstream concept of what "God" is. We also do not believe in the concept of Hell. I believe that those who continue to believe what a concept of a Witch or Wiccan is what they watch on TV and movies are the truly ignorant ones. But we forgive you for your ignorant beliefs, for truly you do not know better. It was the way you were brought out. But I do suggest before you start pointing fingers about pagans and Witches in general, that you get all your facts straight.

Scare Tactics {MyDaily}

Sep 19th 2010 7:37AM When I moved from NYC to here, my daughter started school here in October. She was tormented and teased at school, and finally jumped by some of her fellow classmates at the school. They were elementary school kids. If not for the crossing guard witnessing and stopping the attack, things could have gotten worse. It was right before teachers open house. I went down to the school, and firmly told her teacher that if they lay a hand on her again, I will file charges with the police and they will be knocking on their doors to take them to juvenille hall. And I would not care if they would be the youngest kids in juvenille hall. Since then, NO ONE has hassled my daughter in any way at school since then. These kids are getting away with too much nowaways and their parents are doing nothing about it. Even though the father didn't really go about it the right way, I applaud his actions. BTW, I am assuming that all parties got punished, not just the father? He got his message across, didn't he?

Premature Babies Stand Better Chance at Specialized Hospitals, Study Shows {ParentDish}

Sep 1st 2010 6:01PM I had 2 emergency C-Sections, one in 1991, when my son was born 2 months early, and one in 1992, when my daughter was born 1 month early. Both were born in Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC. Both were in the hospital's neo-natal unit. I am quite happy with their services and highly recommend the use of this hospital. All the doctors and nurses in the unit were helpful and caring when dealing with parents with premies. I always recommend Lenox Hill in NYC to anyone who needs to use a hospital!
