as James Bond.....the 60's and the Cold War were a wonderful time for me. The 21st Century has been a huge disappointment and quite depressing. So were the "other" actors who attempted to play Bond.
However, I didn't expect Daniel Craig to top my list forever(!) as the Best Bond. The most true to reality and to the character.....fantastic, sexy, you get lost in the films and in him. Not effeminate, not overly macho, not misgynistic....just

Jun 29th 2010 11:21PM I'm young(er)....but I vote for the beautiful ladies of yesteryear! Marilyn, Liz, Ava, Lena .... all had make-up and haircolor to accentuate their natural beauty. But today....these young, skinnyfied "beauties" (few of them real actresses) can transform their looks with botox and goodness knows what else, until they don't even resemble themselves!
Can't compare nature and fake quackery ~~~ Especially all of these fakey big lips. Do these young women think their fans are idiots?! If it doesn't look natural ~ it probably isn't.
PS: Many of the 30's - 60's stars didn't use much make-up and really didn't need it. The camera loved them, and it didn't lie! Oh yes, Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren ...just nature.... Elizabeth ~ We all love you. You are the last "Movie Star"!

Also, as you get older...don't wear red lipstick. Peaches, pinks, light corals, nudes take 10 years off ...... no purples or deep reds unless you're really into those vampire films!

But you can compare these true Divas to what we have today....pretty much no talent, electrified-voiced over trash. A few good ones remain. The less they wear, the higher they rise....sad.

May 8th 2010 7:33PM What about just basic Safety?! It's so sad that our neighborhood (yes, in NC!) has gone downhill so fast in the past 10 years. No children are safe riding bikes anywhere near here. No one speaks anymore. More crime and no economic recovery here! Unemployment in County is approximately 11 - 12 percent.
I believe this is almost the norm in America now.
It breaks my heart that my only child can't have the wonderful, carefree childhood I had. "Duck & Cover" was nothing compared to the horrid 21st Century of Misery, Poverty and Hate! Please let's find a President who can fix this mess. Someone of the calibur of JFK or Eisenhower or Ford.... Peace!
Teacher Layoffs Sweep The Nation {AOL Jobs}
Apr 10th 2010 8:26PM I grew up in the 1960's and always loved my (public) school.
Then the Federal Government got involved and all I remember is rioting, school buses turned over, kids (for real) thrown out of windows, girls fondled in the hallways...complete chaos! Most blacks and whites got along fine...and a wonderful black teacher truly saved my life during a riot (and about 30 other white/Asian kids - 8th grade). He still is my Hero!
Now at 52...I have 2 BS degrees and no job. Married with one 10 yr old son who used to LOVE school...And now hates it.
Wonder why?! His whole attitude has changed. It's as if he knows there's no real future out there for him in "our great country". I've always been a patriot, but I'm sick of this mess! Most of his favorite (and best) teachers are gone...and everything is "teach to the test". I know of two families who left this town due to the poor and failing schools. We learned French in the 2nd grade... half of our elementary school's kids don't even know or speak English! Our private school costs way too much - just for Drs and attorneys children. Sad.
Working/middle class white and black families need to unite and fix this horrible "system". Our children are suffering and with less money, it's only going to get worse. How can the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth have such a pathetic, failure of an education system?! We're no. 30 or so in the industrialized nations, aren't we?.... I fear for our future...and you should to! Our greatest resource and our only future is our children...Our elected representatives just don't get it....
We'd all better be studying Chinese. seriously.
