How can you possibly choose ONE favorite Thanksgiving dish?? Every year my mom buys an organic smoked turkey from a local farm (Otto's in Middleville, MI), makes delicious homemade stuffing & mashed potatoes, and I'm always in charge of the green-bean cass & the most amazing sweet potato dish. My Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete with out each and every once of those dishes...but I must say the smoked turkey is the best part!

My favorite dish is a cranberry dish that my aunt makes. I always make another batch all for myself when I get back home. Yum, yum.

Definitely my grandmother's sweet potato soufflee. In the 1950s a state senator was running for re-election in Mississippi, so as a campaign promotional item, he gave out his mother's recipe book. In it was the best sweet potato soufflee recipe ever, and my family has been using it ever since!

this makes no sense to rave about the best cranberry dish or sweet potato souffle w/o sharing the recipe! Can you guys please post them?
here is a delish cranberry cheesecake I had at a friend's last year.
had this at a friend's house at Thanksgiving 2009, this is truly delicious. Very rich, serves 8-10. Thank you Lori L of Sterling Heights, MI for the recipe....
Cranberry Crumb Pie
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 (14oz) can Sweetened Condensed Milk (like Eagle Brand)
3 T light brown sugar (although using this small amount I can't imagine dark brown would hurt)
1/3 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup butter, chilled and diced
1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened
1 (16) oz can whole berry cranberry sauce
1 (9oz) unbaked pie crust (deep dish if purchasing)
1. Preheat oven to 425 F
2. Bake crust 8 minutes. Remove, and reduce oven temperature to 375 F
3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Mix in condensed milk until smooth, stir in lemon juice. Place mixture in pie crust.
4. In a small bowl, mix one tablespoon brown sugar and cornstarch. Mix in whole berry cranberry sauce. Spoon mixture evenly over cream cheese mixture.
5. In a medium bowl, mix butter, flour, remaining brown sugar until crumbly. Stir in walnuts. Sprinkle evenly over pie.
6. Bake 45 minutes at 375 F or until bubbly and light browned. Cool on a metal rack. Serve at room temperature or chill as desired.
If Sicilia brand lemon juice is available in your area, I highly recommend it. They also make lime juice and it tastes exactly like fresh. Much much better than RealLemon/RealLime.

It would be really nice if the people posting comments about "the very best sweet potato souffle on earth" etc. would post the recipe. I'm also interested in Grandma's fabulous cranberry dish....I will post a really good one:
