Oh, boy. A young man in Italy with severe asthma is accusing Facebook of aggravating his condition.According to the Washington Post, the unnamed18-year-old was treated by doctors for asthma attacks that were (according to him) sparked by jealous Facebooking.
After being unfriended by his ex-girlfriend, the poor guy made up a false account and added her as a friend so he could keep tabs on her. Unfortunately, the sight of all the new men she was friending proved too stressful for him, and he had several asthma attacks. Apparently his physicians noted a 20 percent decrease in his ability to breathe before and after Facebooking.
Doctors say the psychological stress caused by Facebook could be enough to trigger attacks in certain asthmatics, but they don't recommend giving up social networking because, come on, that would be crazy. Just use your emergency inhaler and suck it up.
