Oh boy, oh boy. Christine "That's in the first Amendment?" O'Donnell apparently had a one-night stand a few years back with younger guy in Philadelphia, and Gawker has graciously published the account on their site.
O'Donnell, whose rather ... rigid view on sexuality includes points like the evilness of masturbation and that looking at porn is the same as cheating, apparently set her sights on some dude, got a little tipsy a few months later and went to his apartment on Halloween, asking if she could change in his place, dragging him to a bar, making out with him in public, and then inviting herself back to his place. Once there, she told him she was a virgin (neglecting to mention the "born-again" part), and the two didn't actually do it. It seems, from the author's hints at least, that there may or may not have been some petting or necking or something.
Generally speaking, what consenting adults do in the privacy of their bedroom is really none of our business, but if you're going to go around shaming people for having libidos, you shouldn't get dressed up like a ladybug and throw yourself at some rando. Just a thought. And yes, separation of church and state is in the First Amendment.

we all make stupid decisions christine. just own it. you don't have to go around shaming others for their personal sexual choices just because you had some bad experiences.

Shame on you for reposting this, Lemondrop. No matter a person's politics (god knows I think the woman's not cut out to be a senator), nobody deserves to be slut-shamed on the internet. Let this asinine nonstory die and write about something more substantial.

Has Michelle Obama ever commented on anyone's sex life? I don't think she cares about your's. Why do O'Donnel and you care about anyone else's. Get a job.

The term "separation of church and state" came from a private letter written by Thomas Jefferson. It is not, per se, in the Constitution. The constitution, as already pointed out, prevents an 'establishments of religion'. The founders wished to prohibit an overall state wide religion, as exisited in Europe. If they could see what we've made of their attempt to allow religious diversity, they would not recognize the country they founded.

The fact is, that private letter or not, Jefferson wrote about separation of church and state. It is also a fact that George Washington wrote "As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion" in the Treaty of Tripoli in 1796. It is also a fact that Madison also wrote of the separation of church and state.
I think these examples of three founding father's own words show that while the founding fathers would be proud of our diversity, they would also be ashamed of how many citizens are threatened by the diversity that makes the USA the fantastic country it is.

I think that, if the Founding Fathers were brought back to life and allowed to look at this great nation, they would be amazed at what has transpired since its birth and proud of their part in it.

You all do realize that Gawker admitted to paying for the story, and it's been found untrue, right?

If they didn't actually do it, then it's not a one night stand. Duh.
