Gals with blood type O have it rough. Depending on our RH factor, we're expected to donate blood like every 10 minutes, and now it turns out we also may have gotten the short shrift in the baby-making department. According to the Telegraph, a new study of 560 women undergoing fertility treatment found type Os had higher incidence of a FSH, a hormone associated with lowered egg count and poorer egg quality. (The distinction for most bountiful eggs went to those with blood type A.)
These findings could lead experts to recommend women with type O to try for a baby sooner. "Anything which might help couples avoid having to have fertility treatment has got to be good news," Susan Seenan, of Infertility Network U.K., told the Telegraph.
OK, science. How about some positive news for type Os? Just tell us that the blood type diet is bunk so we can stop avoiding dairy already.
