You may have a nice, sack-like dress for "fat" days and "skinny jeans" for when you're feeling extra-hot, but have you ever thought about how much the clothes you don't wear cost you? According to research conducted by British grain manufacturers' group Wholegrain Goodness, women own about 12 outfits that don't fit them, totaling about $450 for the lot. (Why would a grain manufacturer care about your wardrobe? Why, to make sure you're eating healthily, obviously! Which of course means that you're getting PLENTY OF THOSE WHOLE GRAINS.)
Other findings from the survey also fall under the "grass green, water wet" land of obvious science: 52 percent of women polled bought smaller clothes in the hope they would fit into them someday, and half of the ladies polled admitted to fibbing about their weight. The largest inspiration for women to lose weight from the research? Seeing themselves in the mirror (72 percent) and in unflattering photos on Facebook (55 percent). Oy.
Now that we've learned all about how we're frittering away money on fat clothes, we're off to make a club sandwich on some delicious, filling WHOLE GRAIN toast. Perhaps it will provide us some comfort when we're thin and alone.
Need more space for all those outfits? Never fear. Organizational help is here. (Shelterpop)
