Jeans are a fail-safe wardrobe staple, whether you're bumming around on the weekend or heading out on a date. Which is why many of us have spent more than we'd care to admit on a pair that makes our legs look twice as long, or hugs our curves just so.Well, good news ahead: spend as much as you want on your denim. Turns out, we wear jeans so often -- an average of 428 times per pair before we toss them -- that a $62 pair of jeans works out to costing just 14 cents a wear (compared with leggings that cost $16 and only get worn 68 times, working out to 23 cents an outing).
This news doesn't come courtesy of a fashion mag that's trying to get us to invest in the double-denim trend, but from scientists who worked out the cost-per-wear ratio of various items of clothing. The only items we wear even more than jeans are underwear and tees, so it looks like you can afford another trip to Victoria's Secret.

Thats great and all if we want to rationalized spending too much money and all but my guess jeans lasted 1/2 as long as my target brand jeans. So it looks like my 10 dollar purchase has a way better value then my name brand jeans, doesn't seem worth it unless I care what other people think about brands.

This doesn't change the fact that a $20 pair of jeans is still much cheaper, which means that they only costs $.04 a each wear.
I thought this was going to be a study about how more expensive jeans last longer. I buy the cheapest ones I can find (usually from Walmart or Academy) for around $16.99 a pair, and they usually last me a year before they get holes in them and I can't wear them to work anymore.
