Driving a car was so 2009. Get yourself a sick bike so you can ride it until your legs look like Gisele's, save the environment, and feel altogether absolutely amazing about yourself. But cycling isn't about looking like Lance Armstrong in Lycra. No, not at all. What you wear on that two-wheeler is just as important as having air in your tires. In fact, when we previewed the new line of Schwinn 2011 Cruisers, we knew we had to have exactly the right outfit to wear with each. Our picks after the jump!

Not everyone can pull off a spin around town on a pretty, pink princess like this one, but you can if you're daring and uber-girlie enough. Just be sure you look as pretty as the wheels you're on! Grab a dress that's not too long, pair it with a little cover-up, and enjoy the stares of the passersby.

Boutique to You Floral Dress, $60
Topshop USA Draped Waterfall Waistcoat, $90

Last fall I saw this girl ride past me, perched on the most striking red bike. All I remember is the red of her bike matching the red of her newly applied lipstick. My advice to you: Keep your look simple in black and white, and let your bike do all the work. You, my darling, are just a beautiful accessory along for the ride.

Bike: Sprint in red, $1,069

MM Couture Peak Shoulder Cropped Blazer, $55
Petite Breton Stripe Tee, $32
Alice + Olivia Jersey Harem Pants, $54

Isn't this one of those bikes you see on the street and just wish it were yours? Like, you see it chained up and wonder what badass chick rides around on it? It's both masculine and feminine, so dress the same way. Love the idea of a cropped tank flowing with the air, showing off your toned tummy, paired with boyish bottoms. So sexy.

Bike: Madison, $549

Forever 21 Inverted Pyramid Trim Jacket, $12
Billabong Pixie Drop Tank, $26
Sound & Matter Utility Colored Short, $36.50

If I were a bike, I would want to be this one. That said, if I were an outfit on a bike, this is the one I'd like to be. And no, I don't wear glasses, but honestly, these specs are so classic and chic, you can fake it. Perhaps you can say that you ride so fast they keep your eyes protected. If someone calls you out on it, blame me.

Bike: Cream 3-Speed, $439

Madewell Legere Cardigan, $68
Fred Flare Risky Business Glasses, $11
dEliAs Taylor Greenwich Low-Rise Skinny Jean, $50

This is for all of you who dream of living on Nantucket all year round. To be bathed in preppy goods from head to toe, while propped upon a beach cruiser on your way to buy lobster rolls and pick fresh flowers. Day after day, with the sun shining on your shoulders. Ahh, yes, I see your dreams clearly and wish they were my reality, too. The closest you may come to this is dressing the part on a proper bike, here's how:

Bike: Jenny 1-speed, $299

Don't be afraid to be a sex bomb on your ride. Wear little pieces, put on heels, feel totally hot. Yeah, I know there are some of you out there who roll your eyes at the idea of wearing anything but flats while on a bicycle. I get it. But what I also get is the fact that a girl needs the right footwear once she's off her mode of transportation. Don't hate, try it.

Bike: Willy 1-Speed (Men's), $399

RVCA Triad Tank, $34
Topshop USA Premium Scallop Hem Short, $65
ASOS Suede Lock Detail Shoulder Bag, $68
Aldo Susah Clog Heel, $110

I don't know what I love more -- the fact that this bike is aggressively bright, or that it is so while still being completely elegant and understated. Truly one of the best bikes I have ever seen. Throw your goods -- like a camera, a big picnic blanket or just an extra pair of shoes -- in the attached bag (which also clips to the handlebars with no extra equipment), leaving your hands free for steering and photographing the beautiful world as you go by.

Bike: World Market in yellow, $649

Lucky Brand Riley Boyfriend Jeans, $99
Madewell Southwest Print Wool Tassel Scarf, $50
Contrast Waterfall Waistcoat, $90
Holga Starter Kit Camera, $75

This entire look is an ode to my dear friend Amy. Every time I see her, I start singing Serge Gainsbourg and immediately I wish I were in Paris with a cute boy in tow. From head to toe, her style is always polished and streamlined -- just like this bike. It doesn't get more clean, fresh and chic than this. Or her. We should all have a friend like that in our lives. The inspiration is endless.

Bike: Racer in black, $285

Silence & Noise Romper, $68
Ditsy Chiffon Bandeau Bra Top, $32
Zip Detail Leather Pouch Bag, $60
Steve Madden Trouser Oxford, $70

In New York City, you spot two kinds of bike riders at rush hour: messengers who ride over a thousand miles per hour in the wrong traffic direction, and cutely dressed Manhattanites making their way through the city to or from work. It's never a bore to watch a fashion show on wheels, but it does cause me to consider turning around, heading home and changing my outfit. Seeing someone in this look would do precisely that. So very NYC. Love.

Bike: Jenny 7-Speed in light blue, $399

Newport News Triple Ruffle French Terry Sweatshirt, $29
Animal Print Zip Skirt, $65
Ash Egoist Cuff Booties, $265

This bike screams lazy Sunday afternoon. The kind of day you wish would never end. Where you feel so lucky to be alive and wish you had someone following you with a camera to document your bliss. To have no particular place to go, just time on your hands and gorgeous weather on your side. Sit back, and enjoy the time.

Bike: Hornet (Men's) in White, $459

Alloy Keira Bootie, $47
Marc by Marc Jacobs Vintage Inspired Aviator Sunglasses, $98
