Fashion designer Betsey Johnson has never been one to go the subdued route when it comes to her shockingly sweet creations, and that includes Johnson's latest venture: transforming an 18th-floor suite at the posh Plaza Hotel in New York City into the pinkest, girliest stay in Gotham.

Unveiled last month, the Eloise Suite pays homage to the 1955 children's book character who famously resided at the legendary hotel with her nanny and a posse of pets.

True to her eye-popping designer roots, Johnson has decked out the suite in a smattering of princess touches, including a zebra-print rug and a twinkling pink chandelier outfitted with rose-colored bulbs, naturally. You'll pay a pretty penny to slumber here -- $995 a night -- but that's the price of Manhattan glamour, ladies. Of course, budget-conscious divas can also book a night at one of these equally frilly and fun hotel pads. Marilyn Monroe did.

If you happen to be headed to Paris with your own Ken in tow, check out one of the two Barbie-themed digs at the Hotel Plaza Athenee. That is, if he can deal with being surrounded by all that Pepto prettiness.

For the Vegas version of a Barbie dream retreat, the Palms in Sin City has a fantasy suite that was done up by Jonathan Adler. It comes complete with a mirror fashioned from 65 of those wasp-waisted dolls.

Candace Bushnell, Abigail Breslin and Hilary Duff have all stayed in this flirty room, originally designed for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, at the Park Hyatt in Toronto.

A celebrity of another era frequented a certain special room at the Rendezvous B&B in Palm Springs: Marilyn Monroe. The Pretty in Pink spread even has a powder room with a pink tub big enough for two.

Although it's not pink, this chic Life Is a Bed of Roses room at Maison Moschino in Milan is equally fabulous, from the velvety rose-petal enrobed bed to the petal-strewn baubly chandelier.

The quirky Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, Calif., has several pink-themed rooms, but this one has a dollhouse-like staircase leading to a private viewing tower, and an apropos name: Love Nest.

Checking out will be hard to do once you spend a night in the Haagen-Dazs Sweet Suite at Hotel Triton in San Francisco. Aside from the vanilla-, chocolate- and dulce de leche–scented candles and mouth-watering art on the walls, the room comes with a cabinet full of bowls, scoops, spoons ... and as much complimentary ice cream as you can inhale.
