"I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight. I've never seen you shine so bright. Lady in REEEEEEDDDDDDDDD!"
Ahem! Pardon us. We were just captivated by a man in crimson -- that is, at least if a recent study
conducted at the University of Rochester is right about womankind. Recently, researchers showed different women the same photo of a man, digitally varied the color of his shirt, then asked them to assess his personality, based on looks alone.
Conclusion: A red shirt made the man seem more powerful, attractive and sexually desirable than any other color. It's an effect that was the same when the experiment was conducted across the U.S., England, Germany and China.
Just something to think about the next time you're evaluating a first date: Did you really think he was cute, or did his red two-seater sway you?
* Actually, no report yet on what red sports cars do to women, but we can venture a guess.
