For those who loved following Ivy Bean's tweets will unfortunately have to say goodbye as the oldest person on the social networking site passed away. She was 104. While many of our grandparents don't log onto the Web, let alone tweet about their lives, this Englishwoman, known as @ivybean104, entertained over 57,000 followers with posts about her many fish and chip dinners, friendship with U.K. pop star Peter Andre (photographed w/her on the left) and even her invite to meet former British prime minister Gordon Brown. Ivy got sick last month but made sure her Twitter was filled with updates by a manager at the old folks home where she lived. But perhaps the hardest tweet that this staffer had to post was the one on Wednesday morning: "Ivy passed away peacefully at 12.08 this morning," the manager wrote. "I'm sorry it took me so long to tell you but it was a very difficult thing to do." Ivy Bean was like the Web granny we all wanted, and she'll surely be missed. (The Guardian)
