We sincerely, truly never thought it would be possible, but it seems that Paul Blart has been replaced in our hearts by a new protector of shopping malls -- 16-year-old Kealey Oliver, a cheerleader from Oklahoma.Although she doesn't wear a misleading badge or ride a Segway, the high school junior managed to take down a mall thief, while wearing a strapless dress and without even hanging up on her mom. The thief came running toward her, like they do, so Kealey politely informed her mother she would be putting down the phone for a second, and tackled the bad guy, holding him down long enough for mall security to catch up and nab him.
All of this, and she only got a small scratch on her elbow and a bruise on her knee. We know one criminal who's going to have a reeeeeally hard time in jail. (Psssssst: it's the dude who got tackled by a high school cheerleader whilst trying to shoplift at a mall.)

Praise God He's on His throne!
The God of all creation is still in charge, and not Satan.

How does tackling a thief prove cheerleading is a sport? She wasn't "cheering" him. Yes, she's probably a decent athlete and hopefully participates in sports and or lifetime fitness activities, but to say cheerleading is a sport simply because one cheerleader tackled a guy, well, that's apples and oranges.....

Fine and dandy that a cheerleader stopped a thief in a mall, praise her & in your case; "Steve", "praise God". [?]
Fist off; "Steve" where was your guy in the bright night gown BEFORE this guy stole anything? Ever hear of being proactive? He or SHE is certainly NOT busy.
Secondly: because it's a female cheerleader, it's o.k. to use violence.
Would a male cheerleader be a "hero" and a "priceless" as well as an Insperation? Of course not.
Plus: what does her private body part have to do with anything?
A small s_ _ tch, and a bruise on her knee.

Kinda reminds me of the guy who tried to rob the beauty salon in Shreveport, and got beaten by the stylists :-) I love it when the bad guys lose!

Wow, good job... I wonder what kind of trash she put down.
And how do they even allow them access to malls...
Pretty soon malls will be like airports, you need to go through a strip search machine to see what kind of piercings you have in order to get in

Reminds me of a story... I knew a man who had a friend who practiced Jiu-Jitsu with his daughter. Each had 3rd degree blackbelts or the like (I don't know their "belt" levels). A panhandler approached father and daughter at a mall during the winter holiday season, asking for spare change. When the man opened his wallet, intending to give the beggar $5.00, the beggar brandished a knife and demanded the whole wallet and advanced toward the man. Just then, daughter stepped in, proceded to kick the beggar's a$$, had him down on the ground beating him hard! Try as hard as he may, the panhandler couldn't overpower the girl!! Father just stood back and reveled in his daughter's finely tuned self-defense skills. Shortly thereafter, the security person showed up and arrested the assailant. Daughter was not charged, as it was, "self defense". lol. Love that story. So, YAY Cheerleader! Go get em'!!!

That was a very stupid thing to do on her part. What if the thief's reaction was to just beat the hell out of her? She wouldn't have stood a chance on her own.

Couple years ago I saw a thief run out of a grocery store with stolen stuff and an employee chased him and backed him against a wall. The thief beat the crap out of him. That 16 year old was lucky....she could have wound up in the hospital
