Hate when the date is all about you? Try HowAboutWe ... It's a new site that aims to "put the date back in dating." It's only available in NYC at present, but it works by forcing users to 1) invent fun dates (How about we "have a picnic at the aquarium" / "have a wing-eating contest" / "prank call a Gamestop" ); 2) vet potential dates based on their ideas; and 3) execute said idea. You know those awkward conversational voids? You no longer have to fill them with vodka! You can now fill them with ... a sushi class. The site generated buzz at tech meetup when founders Brian Schechter and Aaron Schildkrout (both single) informed the mostly male crowd that the site is mostly female. Well, we do love a good Haunted Booze Cruise. (NYT)Jul 23rd 2010 By Isabel Pen
How About We ... Try Yet Another Dating Site?

Also on this page is a story of how sugar can impair your immune system.
Going on a date with a nose like Niagara Falls just wont work so what can we do ? I couldn't make the connection between the human immune system & sugar, but what conclusion I did come to is that cold viruses love sugar. They feed on it. They also need proteins to build & they drain these out of your blood plasma same as the sugar. Ever have a craving for a high protein food then a few hours later have a cold ? A possible solution is to reduce your sugar intake .

Your immune system, like every other system in your body, also needs protein and sugar. Remember that "sugar" is just an imprecise term for "carbohydrate". What you really need to do to improve your immune system is eat a healthy diet, exercise, get enough sleep, and not live in a completely sterilized bubble. Cutting high-fructose corn syrup and excessive refined sugars from your diet can certainly help your body become healthier overall, but your comment is flawed: eating a high-protein meal isn't going to cause you to come down with a cold, and eating sugar isn't going to make you more likely to get sick all by itself. Furthermore, unless you're diabetic, your blood sugar is very tightly controlled by your pancreas and liver. The real damage that comes from eating too much sugar is the weight gain it can cause and the lack of micronutrients in heavily refined, sugary foods. Basically, if you eat a lot of sugar, chances are you're not eating very micronutrient-rich foods, which can undermine your immune system. This does not mean that sugar itself CAUSES you to come down with colds.
