As Lindsay Lohan settles in at the Lynwood jail, rumor has it that she may be clinging to self-help reading material to get through her LiLo was spotted toting around "Toxic Friends," by Susan Shapiro Barash, purportedly to help her clean up the dumpster of drama that is her life.
Which led us to wonder what other celebs have chosen for their summer reading list. After the jump, from sobriety memoirs to J.D. Salinger, it seems they actually do know to read. Though Snooki admits she's rather new to the whole "bo" thing -- by which we can only assume she meant "book."
Mischa Barton -- "Dry. A Memoir." by Augusten Burroughs Frequently accused of being a drunk and a pothead, the former "O.C." party girl apparently thought she'd try learning about the sober life. But we have a feeling that she may have been, like, totally over it by happy hour.
Rob Pattinson -- "Nine Stories," by J.D. Salinger With a little investigation, paparazzi-ish Twihards discovered that their heartthrob wizard-turned-vampire devours short stories about ... normal people??? SNORE FEST.
Paris Hilton -- "The Power of Now," by Eckhart TolleWe have a feeling that when the socialite picked this up, she may have been thinking, "I've starred in a sex tape and reality TV, attempted a music career and created enough noxious perfume to scent an entire generation of belly-baring tweens. NOW ... what do I do with my life?!"
Sarah Jessica Parker -- "The History of Love," by Nicole KraussIs America's favorite fashionista reading for work or pleasure? Hard to say, but good move with the dark glasses -- Krauss's novel is a total tearjerker.
Courtney Love -- "Trading Up," by Candace BushnellThe train-wreck quasi-rocker takes a break from her usual reading material, "Relativity: The Special and the General Theory."
Snooki of "Jersey Shore" -- "Dear John," by Nicholas SparksThe orange-skinned star recently tweeted that she read her first "bo," "Dear John," by Nicholas Sparks. Oh, dear. Maybe someone should tell her that it's not a re-telling of her Twitter-driven love affair with the Arizona senator.
And hey, Lemondroppers! If you ever spot a celeb reading a bona fide book, email us a pic here and we may even pay you!
