If you think about it, the World Cup is kind of like a global festival of manliness. At any given moment, there are 11 hotter-than-hot soccer players on each side of the field -- that's 22 do-able dudes in all -- vying for your attention for a full 90 minutes.

And you certainly don't have to know the offside rule to appreciate their chiseled abs.

An important note: In making our selection of the hottest soccer players out there, we tried to objectify the men as much as possible (read: no shoo-ins because he's a UNICEF ambassador who feeds the hungry in his free time). After all, did being a modern-day Mother Teresa ever land a woman on a guy's Hottest Chicks list? (And no, that's not why Angelina's on there.)

But, of course, being women, we couldn't help but let personality influence us a little. Which is why guys like Tim Howard -- our very own U.S. goalie, who's so fierce he chews out his own defenders if the other team gets a shot on goal -- wound up on this list: His passion swayed us. Or Iker Casillas -- with his sportscaster girlfriend -- whose cool chick counted as much as his killer looks.
