Question for the masses: Do you get super-clumsy before you start your period? Because I do. About a week before it starts, I loose all coordination (and I don't really have much to begin with.) Seriously -- mystery bruises of all sorts start showing up on my shins and thighs, right around the the level of most coffee tables or cubicle desks. Sometimes, I straight-up walk into things. Like door frames or mailboxes. It's as if I totally forgot I have a left side of my body. Anyone else suffer from the same problem?May 24th 2010 By Erin Scottberg

I am a clumsy person already, but it definitely gets worse before my period! I get so many bruises I don't even remember hitting anything half the time.

Yes!! I am horrible. I tend to drop everything, trip over my own feet and forget everything. I have a habit of locking myself out of my house or car around that time. I have learned to keep spare keys near by.

Yes! Oh my gosh, I get so clumsy before my period. I generally have pretty good coordination, but the five days before it starts, all coordination is lost.

Yes! I have completely walked into door frames before...the pain hurts worse than the embarrassment!

I work in an ob/gyn and thats actually a symptom of pms (and early pregnancy, which have similar hormonal effects on the body). It has something to do with the hormones throwing your brain out of whack, therefore messing with coordination.

Heck Yes!!! I thought I was the only one. I'm a chemist, and I'm always knocking over glassware and spilling things (luckily not toxic things), more so than usual...

Hahaha. My first reaction was "YES!!!! I thought I was the only one!" - until I realized that that's what almost every other comment says. (:
Though it does make the new bruises seem less bad.

During my period (now) because I get bitchy and start yelling at people instead of focussing on walking...

Oh My Gosh...I thought I was crazy! I am so glad to hear it's not just me! I always assumed that right about that time, my brain must swell (joking), but something happens...because literally I feel like things...just....jump out of my hands...I knock over stuff....aaaaaahhh I am gonna let myself off the hook!

I get super clumsy before my period. In fact is was searching online about it and saw your post. I'm so relieved I'm not the only one. I knocked over two drinks while out with my family for dinner last night. Plus I have a cabinet full of chipped dishes. I feel so stupid and get so mad at myself.

Yes! I hurt myself without fail within a week of my cycle. I mainly stomp my toes, cut/scratch myself on something, pinch my fingers in the door of something, its horrible. What is this about exactly?

I never had, but just suddenly it started happening. I think it was because I was on a diet where I ate less and I've made it a lifestyle because it suits me, but now because of the less food it's making me jittery and clumsy. It's weird, but I can totally deal with it.

Yes! I have extra long PMS because my cycles are extra long so I have the clumsy thing forever it seems! Just since yesterday morning I managed to scrape another car in the parking lot, spill a ton of food on the floor, drop (and break) my brand new phone (before I even got out of bed!) and pour water all over the floor. Oh my goodness I HATE this :S

Oh yes. I was actually researching this when I found your question because I thought I was nuts. I drop EVERYTHING the couple days before and the first few days of my period. It's absolutely annoying. I also tend to walk in to the coffee table with extreme frequency during this time frame. As if the pain from cramps wasn't bad enough ;-) *sigh* womanhood.
