If you've ever looked over at your boyfriend and wished he were Brad Pitt, you're not alone. A new survey revealed that 83 percent of women prefer the looks of celebrities over those of their boyfriends. One in 10 said she's plain old embarrassed by the way her guy looks.According to the research by the Good Surgeon Guide (a publication which reviews and recommends cosmetic treatments), another 39 percent actively "style" their boyfriend after a celebrity, and 48 percent said they care more about their boyfriend's appearance than their own.
We don't even want to get into the statistics on how many of them would actively encourage their boyfriends to go under the knife; let's just say that we feel a little icky about the whole thing. While it's heartening to know that the "Men are just more visual creatures!" refrain we always hear goes both ways, it's not exactly thrilling to know that women can be just as bad as guys who wish we were all Megan Fox.

guilty as charged. he has a big nose, huge teeth, small mouth. it'd not ideal, but i don't love him any less because of it.

Well, my boyfriend's a porn star, but that is not who he was almost 15 years ago when we moved in together and not who he is today. I worry more about him being a little needy than what he looks like. Love and looks are two different things.

Shallow would be refusing to be with someone because of their looks. But I agree that it is very shallow for women to encourage their men to undergo plastic surgery. That's just ridiculous. But most women simply prefer the looks of celebrities is what the article said. Who doesn't? They're manufactured to be what we want. That doesn't mean we love our boyfriends any less. And I don't think it is shallow to know who you think is physically attractive, it's shallow to refuse to be with someone unless they're physically attractive to you. It's delusional to think that since you love someone you have to think they're gorgeous. To each his own I guess.

yep. it's okay if women speak out about not thinking their boyfriend is good looking but if a guy says that about his girl then he's being shallow. but don't worry women. almost all guys out there wish their girl looked like an 18 year old britney spears. it's part of being human. looks matter, face it. it's not shallow, men and women are both guilty

don't go just by looks, those looks will fade (for you both) as you grow older...look for what is inside and how that person is toward others...do they love their parents? little telltale signs will show themselves, but sometimes when you think you are in love, you shrug those off and don't give the attention to those things that you will later regret you didn't. Those faults will magnify after you marry and they will be terrible to live with.

that is really fucking pathetic and just goes to show how shallow humans are as a species. not only that but its an unfair double standard. If a guy were to say that about a girl, he's a dog, a playa etc, but its okay for us to do it?? My fiance is tall, thin, and losing some of his hair....and i think he's the sexiest man alive and i love him more than anything on this earth not only for who he is on the inside but the outside too.

So a lot of girls think their boyfriends are unattractive. They're still dating them, aren't they? Looks obviously aren't the most important part of the relationship to these women. And good for them.
