Fun site This Day in Music features a simple but highly entertaining little feature that calculates the number one song on any date, from 1946 to today. Bonus: It'll also show you the top song in the U.K. and Australia.

How addicting is it? After trying out our birthday (and our significant other's) and what was evidently an annoying number of office mates... we started in on dates of general significance, like the day we graduated, the day we met him, the most recent time we ate lasagna ... you get it. It's fun. Check it out.

Also, a quick question: any input on the significance of having Madonna's "Like a Virgin" as your birthday number one song? One of our editors is just wondering ...
