Tie-dye is something usually associated with the Grateful Dead, bongs, hacky sacks, and all-around bad fashion. However, the Proenza Schouler boys managed to make it modern by showing a close-fitting tie-dye top paired with a full skirt, which looks more high-fashion surfer than hippie. For real life (as opposed to the runway), it works with fitted cropped pants and platform sandals. Be careful, though: Pairing with any other boho/hippie items (Birkenstocks, long skirts, beaded headbands, etc.) will make you look like you've just come from Woodstock.
