Ah, the Academy Awards ... one of the few nights of the year where ogling is not only acceptable, but encouraged.

But did you know that the star you're crushing on actually reveals something about your personality? Relationship expert/research scientist Terri Orbuch, PhD -- aka The Love Doctor -- schooled us.

For example, a guy who goes gaga for "girl-next-door" Jennifer Aniston is ready for a committed relationship; one who's hot for Angelina, meanwhile, just wants to walk on the wild side.

OK, we're suitably intrigued. So we asked Orbuch to interpret our "celeb obsessions" with six famous Hollywood hunks -- from George Clooney and Colin Firth to Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp. Read on to find out what your crush says about you.

Oscar winner/humanitarian/former Sexiest Man Alive George Clooney
You crave: More fun. Variety. Maybe even a new job.
The Love Doctor says: "A lot of professional, successful, achievement-oriented women are attracted to this type. And what you're really doing is looking for your opposite -- someone who's exciting, adventurous, and maybe a bit dangerous. A Clooney type is really not looking for a commitment. When you're attracted to your opposite, either you're not ready for a quality relationship -- which is fine, not everybody is -- or you might just be a little bored with what you're doing with your life."

Swashbuckler/expat/Sexiest Man Alive Johnny Depp

You crave: Intrigue. Bad boys. Or an exotic vacation.
The Love Doctor says: While Johnny may be married with kids, the characters he plays -- in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Alice in Wonderland" -- are all about fantasy and escape. "He reminds me of a younger George -- with a little bit more danger. He lives on the wild side in his movies. He's unavailable. Not only to the opposite sex -- he's constantly disappearing. Think about 'Pirates of the Caribbean.'"

Two-time Oscar winner / five-time nominee / man of action Denzel Washington:

You crave: Commitment. A rock to lean on. Possibly a father figure.
The Love Doctor says: "The strong leader -- that's another very common type. Denzel Washington, Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, even Morgan Freeman. You want someone you can rely on under pressure, who doesn't get frazzled in times of stress. Someone who's not going to control you, who can take care of himself. Women are exhausted from men they have to take care of, who are dependent on them financially, emotionally or socially. I'm struck by the Denzel Washington movie 'The Taking of Pelham 123' -- no matter what, he's cool, he's calm, he's collected. Women are attracted to that."

"Twilight" vampire-in-chief / tabloid topliner / teenage dreamboat Robert Pattinson
You crave: Connection. Devotion. A touchy-feely type who won't suck your blood -- or your energy.
The Love Doctor says: "Robert Pattison's character is extremely emotional. He cares about [Kristen Stewart's character], he's committed to her, he would do anything for her, even stop his lifestyle. And for girls who deal with boys who are unavailable and not highly talkative or emotional, that's really attractive."

Jane Austen hero / Bridget Jones crush / stiff-upper-lipped Brit Colin Firth
You crave: An equal. Intellectual stimulation. Someone to read the Sunday paper with.
The Love Doctor says: "He represents the brain. When you're attracted to this kind of person, you really want an intellectual challenge. You want someone you can meet head-on in terms of power and intelligence. You want to think about literary works, traveling ... great conversations where you can go one-on-one with this person."

Movie star / father of six / New Orleans saint Brad Pitt
You crave: A ring. Or maybe just a fling. (Hold on, we're going to explain.)
The Love Doctor says: "To many women, Pitt represents that sex-symbol image -- unattainable, unavailable. But at the same time, because he [settled down] and had kids with Angelina Jolie, he's that sensitive guy. He represents someone you could take home to your parents -- a 'keeper.' Some women think of him in 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith'; for those women it's the sex symbol. But other women think of him as he's seen in the media now, with all his charities, having a large family. [In that case] he's the sensitive guy ... reliable, dependable, trustworthy. This means you're ready to have a relationship. You're ready to share your intimate thoughts and feelings."
