If, like us, you're always looking for somebody else to blame for your loneliness and breadstick addiction, it's a good news day for you.

Two new studies show that not only are parents responsible for how you look, they may have a hand in whether or not you ever find true love.

Recent research shows that we have less control over our tendency to overeat, our general body shape, and how much it "wants" to weigh -- because those factors are heavily influenced by genes.

If that's not reason enough to call your mother and scream, "I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!" try this on for size -- the genes from your parents can also determine whether or not anybody will ever love you.

A study by the University of Western Australia recently determined that a woman's romantic success is highly dependent on how different her mother's genes were from her father's. Genetic variance has long been considered desirable in mating, and apparently, men can tell if a woman's major histocompatibility (MHC) genes are too similar through the smell of her sweat and her appearance.

So you could totally luck out and get a killer metabolism from your mom, but if your dad's DNA is too much like hers, you still might not able to find a partner? Well, at least you won't gain weight when you're sad-eating a whole pizza.

Of course, before you reach for the Häagen Dazs, outside factors like behavioral conditioning and environment also have an effect on your relationships and cup size, but it's far easier to blame your parents when a guy doesn't like the way your sweat smells.
