By now, we all have heard about Sarah Palin and "R-Word-gate." If you haven't, a quick refresher: White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel supposedly called liberal groups "f**king retarded," and Sarah Palin took time off from her busy schedule of, uh, doing whatever Sarah Palin does to call for his immediate resignation. Rush Limbaugh involved himself by dismissing the whole fracas, saying, "He's acting like some giant insult's taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, retards." When asked if Rush should resign (he used the word pejoratively too, after all), Sarah Palin instead defended him, saying that he was clearly using satire. Oh, so it's OK if you're being sarcastic! Wait, what?
Happily, on a recent "Colbert Report," Stephen Colbert broke it all down. He agrees with Sarah Palin: If you clearly don't mean it, it's OK to call someone a horrible word. The best way to come to her defense, he insists, is to call Sarah Palin ... you'll have to watch to find out! Enjoy!

No need to apologize for the caps.I would fully understand your anger(and frustration) if you were "YELLING"! When I see all these folks parroting the likes of Rush Dumbo and Sarah Bimbo I get frustrated too. Can they not see that they have the same sense of 'enlightenment' that the poor folks of the "People's Temple' had with Jim Jones!? "Because Rush (Sarah)says it, it must be TRUE!".. Talk about Political Koolaid!!
I personally think that President Obama is doing the best he can with what he has to deal with both in the mess that Bush and his GOP cronies left him ( Remember He and McCain saying the "Economy is fundamentally strong" just a couple o weeks before it almost totally collapsed?) but with the extremists on both sides of the aisle acting like spoiled children. I think after he exposes them in the next televised open discussion with them he will FINALLY abandon his gallant attempt at bipartisonship and just take the "Bull" by the horns and go the reconcilliation route and start using "Executive Orders" to get his Hopey-Changey stuff done that we elected him to do. Sadly, Congress has already become the Corporate Mouthpieces that the Supreme Court recently Sanctioned. I honestly am left to only hope that Obama is the last Friend of the Middle Class left in Washington. If he doesn't grab the "Bull" by the horns the middle class will be in deeper shit!

I find it very intresting that anyone can call any a retard but depending on your meaning or who you refer to makes it ok either way. As for the libs in the its not fair card well to say the least it isnt fair not that in itself matters. I think coming from a family in which my brother has a learning disability anyone useing the term retard should be beaten until they can no longer think as the "normal " do. And then of course we can plaster them on television everywhere so people can stare at them as so many did at my brother whenever we went anywhere. But hopefully no one would feel any sympathy for those people for it wasnt a medical mishap but the work of their own doing. KARMA is a wonderous thing and to Palin i understand her anger but to defend anyone for useing that terms does a disservice to her child And while limbaugh can have his opinion im glad i can choose to ignore it.

Stephen Colbert is a jerk & he has just lost a viewer here. I am sick & tired of the idiots that want to make fun of a baby & of Sarah Palin. They do not treat other women & their babies like this. Liberals & Progressives are just the nastiest people in the world. I know conservatives some can be nasty but the majority of Liberals & Progressives are the very worse. It is like that went to school for this to be taught to them. Look at Pelosi & Reid they do it with a smile on their face while they are stabbing you in the back. What were you trying to say? As a conservative, I am sure you have never watched the Colbert Report, so I would think he is not worried about losing you as a viewer. I don't see where anyone is making fun of any baby. They are making fun of the fact that she is being a hypocrite. She's saying Emanuel should resign, but not saying Rush Limbaugh, who is clearly doing the same thing Emanuel is doing and certainly not using it in satire, is doing the same thing. Then she makes fun of Obama for reading from a teleprompter, and reads from her hand. That's funny. Stop with the team mentality. We're all Americans and no politician is in it for the people. They are in it for the money and power. This country was in the worst shape it has ever been in under Bush. The world hates us, we're bankrupt, in a war for no apparent reason, and unemployment is at the second highest ever. That all happened from giving corporations too much power. Obama got elected because smart people realize that. When government gets too much power we'll vote the Republicans back in. No one should have power except the people of the United States. Sarah Palin did herself and her family a huge disservice when she got pregnant in the first place. No woman over the age of 35 (25) for that matter should be getting pregnant. Sarah Palin is the reason her own child is retarded, no one else. If you can't seem to not get pregnant over the age of 35, you should stop having relations with your husband or boyfriend. You talk about health care, that is a valid reason for women NOT to get pregnant after a certain age. I don't feel sorry for Sarah Palin's kid. I know dozens of women that had retarded babies. They don't feel sorry for themselves, nor their children. They live day to day handling whatever it is they need to handle. You don't hear them crying because someone called their child retarded. I am sick of all the political correct words. Retarded was good enough back a few years ago, why not now? I thought that you’re remarks were distasteful; I also realize there is a many people who believe that your humor is funny. In this particular case I don’t. When people use words that are hateful or demeaning to others it only creates hate and mistrust. I don’t listen to Rush Limbaugh except when ever he is on the news. I could help but notice how fast you were to point out Sarah Palin indignation of a politician verses a Radio Talk show host Rush Limbaugh. Words that are mint to hurt individuals or groups of people in itself is distasteful, I would like to think that you’re a champion of people, who attacks those individuals who are demeaned by hate words or demeaning words. However I do have a slight problem why didn’t you chastise the Democrat who started if all, do you have your own motives and or agenda? Why aren’t you attacking those in your own entertainment field who demeans woman and certain ethic groups and makes a lot of money doing just that, especially in rap.
