We doubt Yale's applicant pool is dwindling, but the Ivy League is getting creative with its recruitment, taking a musical cue from Disney's "High School Musical." Titled "That's Why I Chose Yale," the 16-minute video shows us what it's really like to go to the school -- that is, if we lived in a musical world. Complete with an acapella interlude and extravagant dance routine (a la "500 Days of Summer"), the video was the brainchild of 2006 Yale grad Andrew Johnson, who currently works for the school's admissions office. Living in a post-Efron world, Johnson thought what better way to revive what would normally be a painstakingly boring informational video and pep it up with some pop music.
As entertaining as this may be, we can only listen to undergrads and professors sing about a school for so long. However, the clip have some high points from the confident and preppy freshman counselor belting out how to choose the right classes to the architecture student who uses his raspy pipes to sing about helping "a city that's dying." Enjoy!
