car-parked-roadsideEmergency car items aren't limited to, say, your insurance papers and your actual emergency kit. There are some things you should have for obvious reasons -- like snacks -- and then there are others, like dog treats, that are always smart to have on hand. We told you the 10 things every woman should have in her car; you told us what we were missing. (A+, you guys. You are full of good ideas.)

"I keep a disposable camera in the car -- for documentation of damage if there is ever an accident, or for those once-in-a-lifetime photos where you'd curse if you didn't have a camera. A lot of times, I have my small digital with me, but in the event you don't, the disposible is a good cheap substitute." -- Sandia

"I also carry a pair of cotton gloves for the gas pump, hand wipes, a foldable waterproof hat and a lint roller. In the winter time I carry a bag of kitty litter for traction in case I get stuck in the snow or on ice." -- MonicaG

"I would also add to the list a fire extinguisher. I keep a small one in the car. Twice I have been able to give the extinguishers to someone whose car was catching fire; without it you just have to wait for the fire department and watch our car burn." -- JB

"Pillows (along with the blankets). If you are ever on the road and really tired -- pull over and sleep. (Wal-Marts are generally friendly.) Way better than crashing and killing yourself or others." -- Susan

"You should definitely keep an ice scraper for the windshield." -- Alicia Bailey

"Jumper cables, an old beach towel/junkier towel, first aid kit, and a jug of water especially -- if you drive an old car. Plus a stash of bobby pins/safety pins/hair ties/ chapstick and a small stick of deodorant." -- Ashleigh

"Even better than wasp spray is a can of cheap hair spray! It works really well for bees, and wasps, etc. Spray it towards them and make sure they get covered by it. Once they get sprayed, they drop instantly, and die. The sticky hair spray stiffens their wings and they can't fly. It works excellent ! Just don't expose it to intense heat sources. Keep it covered from sunlight when not using in the car." -- MamaCat14

"One of my must-haves are those hand/feet warmer packets....they come individually wrapped and don't heat up until open. They are perfect if you are stuck somewhere without power to your vehicle. Slip one in each glove and each sock and you'll be toasty warm until help arrives." -- Jenn

"Everyone forgot condoms!" -- King David
