Olympics or bust?Olympics, apparently.
Australian star hurdler Jana Pittman-Rawlinson recently reversed her $13,000 breast implant surgery, worried that her newly acquired chest was affecting her performance on the track.
"Every time I raced I panicked about whether I was letting my country down, all for my own vanity," she said.
Pittman-Rawlinson thinks that the weight and heft of her new cleavage is causing added drag on her speed, and that ditching them will make her more aerodynamic.
Look, we get that breast implants make a lot of women feel more confident -- but if a beautiful, successful world champion athlete and Olympian doesn't feel confident in her body, that doesn't really bode well. Especially considering the fact that Pittman-Rawlinson told reporters that she wouldn't rule out getting new implants after her track career is over.
If nothing else, maybe we can admire her commitment to the cause? "I absolutely loved having bigger boobs, but I don't want to short-change Australia either," she said. "I want to feel the most athletic I can, to know that I'm standing on the track in London (2012 Olympics) the fittest I can be."
After all, downsizing your chest for the citizens of your country is patriotism at its finest, if you ask us.

What a stupid article. And characterizing as her heroic and patriotic for getting the implants removed to create less "drag" while she's running is just silly. My god people are so vapid and vain these days.

I think your taking the reporting a little serious.

Chances are that when she stops competing and allows herself some body fat and menstrual cycles, or particularly goes ahead and has children, that she will "find" her missing breasts and not need the implants.

She gave birth to her son Dec 14th 2006. Still smaller than average...but not unattractive!

It may take having more than one kid to fill in her breast tissue.

I think she is great for making a such sacrifice to represent her country, it’s the most thing a woman can do to improve her country’s image, at her own expense. I believe it’s brave, and delicious decision.

WOW. This article is piss.
Breast implants are shallow, meaningless, and unnecessary. Of course, the fact that this athlete is being praised for being indecisive is even more meaningless.
Thanks for the waste of web space.

Like, OK...but who really cares?
In our modern, makeover world...I guess it's news. Face it. It's the Olympics...if she drinks the wrong water she may fail a drug test. Boobs, dynamic sports wear, shaved heads...whatever it take to get the gold is considered.
Boob job, however is more information than I really want to know.
Never the less, she seems like a nice woman who is open and positve.
Go for it girl.

yeah, you know them hooters cause wind drag and can slow you down. plus extra weight. what a she-man. actually though while i think about it, the curves of the cans were probably more aero-dynamically correct. we should've put her in a wind tunnel and done before and after hooters test and compared results.

Alot of times it isn't about the fact that breasts look good. Alot of women in that line of work feel they aren't feminine, and some women just need to feel feminine to feel comfortable with themselves. Much the same with women who have had to have their breasts removed due to cancer, or other reasons.
I don't think she'll need the implants when she really is retired, and lets her body go back to it's normal rhythm. Obviously her sport is far more important to her, and that is admirable.

I really don't think wanting bigger breast means you're not confident about your body. We equate breast with femininity. Sometimes fuller breasted women can look more feminine in clothing, so it's a natural desire. I have full breast and nice legs, but small hips. It would be nice if they were larger, but that doesn't mean I feel bad or self concious about my body. I have my attributes. Women that are smaller breasted have their attributes, too.
