If socially encouraged calendar-marked goal-setting is for suckers, then by all means, we're suckers around here. We gave ourselves up until December 31 to get back together with crappy ex-boyfriends, partake in overindulgent holiday feasts and throw around cash like P. Diddy. But it ends today, people! We asked our Lemondrop readers and writers to weigh in with their resolutions for 2010 -- we hope some of them will inspire you to live these next 365 days to the fullest. If you've got one, leave it for us in the comments. Happy New Year!
Lemondrop readers:
No more second chances. -- @x_tinazBuy more shoes and have better sexy times. -- @thisisthebang
Give more ... expect less. -- @textmessagebaby
My New Year's resolution is to be more badass. -- @madstoryteller
To come to terms with the fact that cupcakes are not a major food group or a lifestyle, and to find balance in all aspects of my life. -- Amy
Get a "big girl" job. -- Brittany
Get a "big girl" job. -- Brittany
In 2010, I resolve to volunteer more, create more art & jewelry, practice yoga again, work hard/play hard, and buy a house. -- @bugeyedguide
Stop drinking and start cleansing my body. Almost 30, two kids. Time to take care of myself for my babies. -- Melanie
Giving up alcohol, entirely, for 2010 (definitely going back to it in 2011). -- @eefarris
I just want to be happy. -- @melissablake
Lemondrop writers:
More veggies and less cake; more dresses and less pants. -- Teresa
In years past I've aimed big and failed. So this year, I'm just going to try staying out of debt and staying out of jail. At least one of those should be attainable. -- Liz
My New Year's resolution is to stop pretending that I like indie music. I don't. -- Laurie
My resolution is to stay in touch better with long-distance friends (no poking, texting or tweeting). -- Amber
I'm planning to retake driver's ed. It's been awhile for this city girl but I want to be comfortable driving when I need (or want) to. -- Susan
I know myself well enough to know that I'll never keep any resolutions related to food and/or exercise. Rather, this will be The Year of Financial Success: I resolve to finish my career coaching certification program and open up a private practice focused on the publishing industry. Hopefully, this will earn me enough extra money to both pay off the rest of my credit card debt and indulge my booktardish tendencies. -- Steph
Make money. Move out. Find a way to still eat Chinese food four times a week and look like a Pussy Cat Doll. -- Ilana
I'll be watching less TV possible getting rid of cable all together. And running more -- I want to run another half-marathon. -- Gloria
My New Year's resolution is to not resolve to go to more museums. My lack of museum-going annoyed me when I first moved to NYC, but now I'm starting to embrace it a bit. Screw you, Tim Burton at MoMA! I'll just watch Beetlejuice again. -- Emily
I'm hoping to turn my ragamuffin self into a full-fledged lady in 2010. That means regular workouts instead of the occasional "God I ate a lot of cheese fries last night" elliptical trip, no more convincing myself chipped nails are "in," and actually wearing the fancypants ankle boots to work that are literally collecting dust balls in my closet. -- Carlye
To have more adventures. -- Lauren
I just want to go to yoga three times per week. Sounds easy but always impossible for me. -- Laura
I will not look at clothes for more than an hour each day. I will save time and money ... and precious closet space. -- Elizabeth

In 2009, I resolved to stop dating bad boys, slackers and men who were just plain bad for me. Oops! I'm making the same resolution this year and hoping it sticks.
Check out my blog post, "Addicted to Love..." and wish me luck!
