When imagining the ideal location for a wedding ceremony, an airport terminal doesn't usually -- if ever -- come to mind. This weekend, however, Orlando natives Shawna Hodge and Cody Beckwith exchanged vows in a surprise ceremony at Tampa International in front of family, friends -- and hundreds of strangers.Blame the snowstorm that descended on the mid-Atlantic and Northeast over the weekend. Shawna's soldier fiance was trapped in a Baltimore airport as inch after inch of snow caused delays and canceled flights, preventing him from getting to his own wedding in Orlando.
At midnight on Sunday, after hours of waiting, Cody finally descended a plane in Tampa. Waiting for him was his resilient bride-to-be still dressed in her wedding gown. With wedding party in tow -- and the romantic sounds of airport personnel in the background -- they said "I do" in an impromptu ceremony.
When it comes to a girl's wedding day, even a blizzard and the TSA can't stop it.
Here's the video of the touching ceremony. Enjoy!

Military has the highest divorced ever. 69% of marriage in the military doesn't last the first term (4 years of enlistment).

I don't agree, even tho I am divorced but it was after retirement. There are many, many strong marriaages that are alive and doing well. Your 4 years in the military....well you have a lot to learn, unless you are very young and in a fit of panic married someone also young and all fell apart. That was not a marriage but a game of playing grown up. Suggest that you not generalize...makes you look silly. I spent 30 as a military wife and am now a miltary mother of 3, all happily married to their original partners. Are we an exception to the rule? As I said, my divorce happened after military life..........

I agree with you. There ARE a ton of divorces in the military. This chick wanted to make sure she got the benefits before he deploys and maybe gets killed. She knew how to play that one right. Check back on them in 4-5 years and see what the deal is. I was a army wife, I've seen many a quicky marriages. Many are chicks hanging around the bases to snag a man to get the bene's. It disgusting how some of these people meet at a bar and are married a week or month later only because the guy is deploying. HE wants someone that's back home that he can trust and rely on to be there when he comes back. She just wants the ben's and the title, fre ehousing and medical. A lot are screwing around with another soldier while hubby's away and so on. LOL it goes on soooo much it's funny but sickning too. Seriously, check on them in 4/5 yrs and tell me that this one worked out. I'll bet it doesn't. lmao!

I know she was probably anxious but I'm very curious and wonder why they had to do it right there. Why couldn't they wait till they got him back to a house and let him freshen up or some place a little nicer? Seems odd to me. Since he was coming home to get married I'm pretty sure he has some more leave. They could have done it the next day. Maybe she was just afraid something else would stop it. I'm happy for them but it just seems strange some how.

I suggest that you go back and re read the article. If you can't figure it out, you never will. Perhaps when you mature a bit you will understand.
