Didn't get everything you wanted for the holidays this year? How about treating yourself to an adorable kitty keychain whose ears transform into a weapon capable of taking someone's eye out? Or ringing in the New Year with The Screecher personal air horn? Looking to compliment your slammin' New Year's Eve outfit with a hot accessory? Consider a demure Taser C2 in your choice of pink. Nothing says "party" like debilitating a potential attacker.Online self-defense product retailers are tapping into the perceived need to be feminine while also kicking butt. Sites like Rose Guardian even go so far as to provide a selection of "Think Pink" items, dedicated to showcasing knives and stun guns in ladylike, pastel tones. Lord knows it's imperative to look dainty while incapacitating someone with a pink stun gun that resembles a cell phone.
"We focus on the needs of today's working-class women, single women and a variety of groups including victims of domestic abuse, victims of stalking and every woman who simply needs to feel safer by providing products for home safety, self-defense and protection that are practical, dependable and affordable," explains the company's comprehensive Web site. Evidently, those needs include looking cute while TCB.
Consider the Lipstick Surprise. The surprise isn't that it perfectly matches your skin tone, but that it's a 3-inch lipstick case that holds a 1-1/4-inch stainless steel blade, perfect for shanking someone trying to rob you in the ladies room. While you're in there, fix your coif with the Comb Defender, which provides "the functionality of the pocket comb with the security of a quality 3-1/2-inch blade if you need it." Just make sure you don't try to style and stab at the same time.
For those embarking on a career as a grown-up Veronica Mars or who have the need for some covert recording devices, Rose Guardian also offers cameras in the form of car alarm fobs and fashion watches that double as audio-recording devices.
"We're going to be opening up an online store strictly for infidelity," Carlos Crespo, owner of Rose Guardian, told Cleveland Scene. Rose Guardian also operates a retail shop in Cleveland where "women can come in, make a decision, touch the product, feel the product and make a decision from that," Crespo told onntv.com.
Sadly, as of yet, they don't stock the tampon stun gun, which is perhaps the ultimate in "feminine protection."

WOW!!!! All these new gadgets for women to protect themselves. Could the reason be that everytime we turn around a woman or a girl falls into the hands of a sexual predator?
Ladies, grab them by the balls, squeeze and don't let go. They'll be hitting those high notes just like Mariah Carey.

it's better to carry a knife with a 3.5 inch blade than a knife-comb. most states have exceptions to the law that make a common knife legal, but not knifes concealed in combs, lipstick etc.

I believe in protecting your self, but I also believe it is a concealed or disguised weapon of which can lead to many legal problems when entering public buildings. The bad side of this scenario is this type of knife, a disguised weapon could be carried by an attacker unnoticed by an intended victim. This type of weapon should not be used or allowed to be sold in the U.S.A. to protect society as a whole.

I have a permit to carry mace. I also do carry a small switchblade as well, "just in case". Thank goodness I don't have a gun permit yet. But, I'm working on that.

Hi Kristen
It is fine you carry mace, it is a fine deterant, but those who carry firearms should be willing to fire it when first threatened, the hesitation gives the assailant time to react and disarm you. Then you are in deeper than you first suspected. Please use the force within reason for you own protectection.Wisdom can go a long way.

Nah, I'll pass. What happens when you carry a weapon that your attacker can end up using against you?

Not as good as the 'brass knuckles' ring they had for sale (and on display) in a survival themed design show at the mMuseum ofModern Art in New York around 2002. Last time I went to their store, I did check the jewelry counter and to my dismay, they no longer carry them! Such a shame; they had some wonderful things in that show and many of them were for sale in their store. (No; not all of them were weapons).

I don't carry any weapons now but if I ever had to I do know how to grab a man where it hurts and/or give him a good knee job in that area. My dad taught me that stuff when I was a kid many years ago. One other thing is to start shouting as loud as you can and shout things like "fire" which wil often get people's attention more then "help" or you might even try "rape", "rapist" or something else but I am told that "fire" probably works best.
When I was on my own as a young person I used to carry a bottle of coke with me whenever I went out some where at night since I had to walk through a particularly bad area of town to get where I usually wanted to go. At that time coke bottles were made out of glass so they were a very good weapon. I could drink the coke whenever I wanted and still have a weapon handy. I never did have to use it but I knew how to use it.

I had the lipstick knife for years. It was really good, I carried everywhere with me and figured it was a little protection if I needed it. Small and discreet. But, unfortunately, I left it at home one day and some one broke into my house and took it with many other personal items. I need to replace it and buy a few more items on the roseguardian.com website. Ladies, I recommend it, especially if some sick man you go out with decides he's entitled to more than your company. Only for your protection of course!

The police have a technical term they use for women who try to use such gadgets for self-protection: murder victim.

a car key can be used to poke in the eyes , ears, chest, scrotum. ...just carry them to the car always....a rat tailed comb is good too...and a purse with shoulder strap...aim for the head and neck and yank...works great....you will need some heavy stuff in the purse...the back of the knee with the purse will bring them down....anything sharp you can attach to the purse or easily carry..... as for the skeptics...nothing is 100% percent but at least trying to protect yourself is better than crying and doing nothing....the average time between a 911 call and getting help is 9 minutes...you can be dead in 1 minute...while waiting...

Youtube and look for mind body and kick ass moves. Carrying things on your person to use as a weapon can, and usually will be made ineffective should your attacker have a firearm. Then you enter the "Oh you wanted to hurt me" phase where things go from bad to worse.
Whats the worst it'll cost? Here's $20 if you just let me go home, I'm always dropping money when I'm out on the street!
