Loud sex happens. It's good when you're the screamer. Or the moaner. Or the "Ohhhhh ... myyyyy ... Gaaaaawd"-er. But when you're the neighbor, loud sex isn't so good. And that's why Caroline Cartwright was arrested last month; she just couldn't keep it down while having sex with her husband. Neighbors, the postman and local parents all complained about Cartwright's loud sex noises, which were described as "unnatural," likened to someone in "considerable pain" during court proceedings. One neighbor even claimed the sex was so loud, it kept her up all night, making her late for work. In response, the municipality imposed a noise abatement order and an "antisocial behavior order" (which the Brits call an "Asbo"), on the Cartwrights.
Now, more than two years after the original charges, Caroline has admitted to breaching the orders by being a bit too "social" with her husband. Cartwright faces sentencing next month for breaking noise levels of 47 decibels while getting it on. (The BBC helpfully points out that the World Health Organization considers a noise of 30 decibels enough to disturb one's sleep.)
The whole thing might have been an ordeal for the neighbors, but we think this story should be an aphrodisiac: The noises were a near-nightly occurrence -- so much for losing your libido after you put a ring on it.

More than once I listened to two people having sex. I was waiting on the porch one night and the next house was howling. I thought it was funny and also amazing the woman could orgasm so many times. It never seemed to stop! It's much more amusing than a lot of other loud noises, and I knew they were having fun. Wished it was me! The downside-if someone had to go to work and the decibels were that high, it wouldn't be fair to keep a person awake and lose needed rest. I would agree then that any noise ordinance should be enforced somehow.

LMAOROFL - maybe the neighbors, mailpersons, delivery persons, etc, ought to get a life and have sex once in awhile too! Orgasmic screaming is now a misdemeanor, with fines and potential jail time with probation?? And if it occurs again it becomes a felony?? LOL, but the couple could be somewhat considerate and pad their room, or the whole house, especially the kitchen counter and washing machine if necessary while the neighbors, etc, put on their earmuffs.

The reason this is a misdemeanor is because she was told to stop and did not. Pretend the noises weren't from sex. Say it was from music. They were playing it too loud, were told to stop, but did not. Wouldn't you say that's a "crime"? So why is super loud sex which is actually at a louder volume than most people's music not a "crime"? She was told to shut up, but did nothing. Could have at least sound proofed her bedroom if she wanted to keep screaming.

Such matters like this should be kept confidential, sex was made to be sacred not exploited like the world sees it. Sex is a good thing between married couples and it should not offend others. Loud sex is offensive and should be penalized because normal people get up and go to work and their sleep shouldn't be disturb by this. People need to be respected we are not animals. We have to be more civilized this should be the case to all human beings. We need more consideration among us especially today when sex has been exploited and degraded by our society. But I thank God that there are still good people in this world that upholds it beauty the right way.

I don't know why women find the need to be so loud. Many girls can orgasm without a screech. It just made the neighbors uncomfortable. Why should they be prosecuted for having sex in their own home when there are people who drive down the street with their windows down blaring music? Actually, that loud music with a lot of bass can cause SIDS, brain problems, collapsed lungs, and central nervous system problems. I do however understand where the neighbors are comming from. If she is screaming like she is being murdered that would cause anyone to panic. There could be one time when her screams were from being murdered and no one would come. Tell this lady to scream into a pillow or put her hand to her mouth. Be considerate of others.

I don't think you can liken this to playing music too loud. Well I guess depends on what system you have, but it is hard for me to believe that a woman in the throes of passion can be that loud that neighbors will hear her, unless she is in a townhouse or something. WTF were they also complaining about the noises being "unnatural?" who the hell are they to judge? They said it sounded like she was in considerable pain...but then again sometimes the rougher it is the better. My husband always knows he is doing a good job when I am mixing in "Ow" with "Oh" lol

You guys are idiots. The guys are cheering it on because they'd love to feel like they made a woman moan that loud. If there was someone keeping me awake at night because they were having sex that loud, that's ridiculous, and who the fuck cares if they got in trouble? Are you friends with them or something? How ridiculous there are people defending them, simply because the noise they created was caused during a sexual act; as if the fact they are screwing gives them the right to be rude, disrespectful and self centered enough to forego any thought of anyone else in the surround vicinity!
I personally have a healthy sex life, and do not mind loud, rowdy sex or a noisy orgasm, but just out of common courtesy, if I did have neighbors close enough to hear, I would be mindful and thoughtful of them or their children, and once my noise overlapped into their personal space it is no longer just my business but theirs as well. I can well imagine if my children ran rampant all night long or if we played our television or stereo too loudly, those of you defending them would be among the first to call the police!
When did we become so piggish and thoughtless that anyone could think it is OK to intrude into the homes of others, just because we do so with the noise of sex?
