You've got a sisterly bond with your best girlfriends, but does your ladies' night gang have this kind of love going on?Twenty women in Marquette, Mich., have been breast-feeding little Charles Moses Goodrich since his mom passed away in January. Susan Goodrich died of a rare amniotic fluid embolism within 12 hours of giving birth to her baby boy.
Susan had always planned on breast-feeding her baby boy, and one of her friends knew it. She offered Susan's widower, Robbie, a gift of life -- she'd help feed the baby. Then she made some calls, rounding up a total of 20 nursing moms who had a little extra time and milk to spare. They're doing what's known as co-nursing -- and it's not that uncommon.
After all, if it's good for Salma Hayek, it can't be all bad, right? Except these women don't need publicity for a big movie.
So how does it get even more amazing? They're still at it nearly a year later, helping Robbie fulfill the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines that kids be breast-fed for the first year of life.

Well, I hope none of these ladies had communicable diseases such as HIV which can be passed on through breast milk. I also hope the father was able to keep an eye on what these ladies were eating, and other health habits, like smoking.... Frankly I am a supporter of breast feeding over formula, but alive or dead I don't see my kid latched to any other women's chest unless there is some sort of famine where no other form of milk or milk alternative available.

My friends would do this in an instant, and I love them for it. I don't know that anyone who cared enough to share would hide any diseases or such. Besides, very few habits would convince me formula would be a better choice.
