The guy you're with might not be Prince Charming, but you still can turn any old date into a Cinderella-inspired evening by slipping into a glam sequined cocktail dress. Look for fresh styles that feature brightly colored metallic spangles instead of just basic black. This one by Antik Batik (on the left) definitely fits the bill (though it might have you staying out way past midnight).
Don't have a Fairy Godmother around to shell out the $385 you'll need to buy it? Try this one by Arden B (on the right) instead.
The same rich combination of bronze, gold and rose-gold sequins for one-fifth the price, this dress is all the magic you'll need to have a ball ... even if you're not at one.

White or off white? Many guests wear very off white or muslin colored bridesmaid dresses, which is absolutely fine for any wedding. Historically, guests wore “THEIR” best bridesmaid dress to the wedding, and the color wasn’t dictated by anyone. Now, if it a frilly, lacey white-white dress, that is a different story all together! So many things are dependent on culture anyway.
