If there's one thing to be learned from Les Atwell and Sheila Walsh, it's that it's never to late to find true love. Or maybe to always listen to your cleaning lady when she hooks you up on a blind date.Either way, the two have become the U.K.'s oldest newlyweds, with a combined age of 181 years. Les, 94, met Sheila, 87, on a blind date set up by his cleaner, a friend of Sheila's, at a grocery store in their town. Four years later Les proposed to Sheila at that same store, and with no time to waste they were married soon after. Although the marriage got off to a rocky start -- Sheila experienced a bout of dizziness at the wedding which forced them to delay their honeymoon a bit (but the two have no plans to cancel the vacation).
Les and Sheila are the oldest newlyweds in the U.K., but the world record is presently held by a French couple who married with a combined 200 years between them in 2002. We're glad they're not the competitive sort who might try to hold off for five more years.

By me
so nice that they have found love. but who wrote this story and where did they learn math? if they waited only 5 years they would still only have 191 years between them - not enough to hold the record set by the couple from france.

Actually 5 years would have given them both 5 years which COMBINED would give them 10 leaving them at a COMBINED 201.

What is "a spout of dizzyness"? Is it some sort of watery malaise that occurs in island nations? Or could the writer have meant "a BOUT of dizzyness" -- that is, a brief episode -- which would make more sense to simple, ol' uneducated me. But, who am I to pass judgement on British medicine? After all, their medical system IS socialized, just like the one we're about to get, like it or not. And, my own (horrible) experiences of British socialized medicine notwithstanding, that's a good thing.
Isn't it?
