Baldrick the bald hedgehogLife just sucks sometimes, like if you were to have the misfortune of being born a bald hedgehog and were abandoned by your mother.

Fortunately, there are people in the world who help such unfortunate creatures turn their lives around. The baby, known as Baldrick, was found in a garden in Norfolk, England.

Why somebody was inspecting their garden closely enough to notice a baby hedgehog is beyond us, but whoever had the time to go hedgehog spotting in their yard also had the time to take the creature to the Foxy Lodge Wildlife Rescue and saved the little hedgie's life.

According to the Telegraph, Foxy Lodge proprietors John and Tonia Garner rub baby oil on Baldrick's skin so that his spikes might grow. Baldrick also gets to gorge on mealworms, his favorite snack.

Baldrick isn't the only follicularly challenged animal we've fallen for. We loved the bald penguin who needed his own wetsuit, and the bald female bears at a German zoo have broken our hearts.

Once his spikes grow back, Baldrick will be released into the wild. Until then, he's just going to have to suffer through all the massages and free food.

Let's hope this little guy doesn't get too spoiled!
