You know we love sweets, but there are just some desserts out there that even we can turn down. We've shown you our cake-mess finds in the past, which we found out about through the genius blog CakeWrecks. In fact, that site's founder/writer/scary-cake hunter Jennifer Yates just released an entire book, "Cake Wrecks: When Professional Cakes Go Horribly Wrong," showcasing what happens when baked goods go bad. Here, a few confectionary catastrophes from the book, plus a few we found on our own. Got a Cake Wreck to share? Send it to us -- we may feature it on Lemondrop!

When this Moscow restaurant wanted to make a standout dessert, the multiple tiers just wouldn't do. Instead a cake shaped as Russian revolutionary leader Vladimir Ilyich Lenin on his deathbed best suited this occasion.

People should learn to spell before
they decorate cakes. I am grown up
and I can read the mistakes.

I order my own cake for my birthday. When I ordered, they asked my the occasion, I said birthday and she said boy or girl, and I thought she was thinking color sceme for cake. I said girl as they usually put pink roses on it. When I picked it up there was a baby girl on the cake with congratulations on it. It was great. Everyone got a kick out of it! Mistakes are often made to make you smile. Ease up people..it's cake.

I am a mom, and I never claim to be wonderful at making cakes or anything else for that matter...but I can understand how someone under pressure can misspell something. You sit there while trying to write in icing the message and double check words that you have been spelling for years because you want the cake to be perfect. My dad used to have a saying, "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks." So all of you who pick on people for putting There when they mean Their, should really look at things you are not so great at. I would love to see you make a rose on a cake, perfectly center a message on a cake, or even use different tips with the icing bags to get different designs. It isn't always as easy as it seems.

Is it really our youth that has failed us with what they don't know, or is it us who have failed our youth by not teaching them what they need to know? You complain about how a school system is not teaching your child something you want them to know, why aren't you stepping up to the plate and teaching them?

My, my...aren't we all being a little "catty"? Has no-one ever made a mistake??? I've decorated cakes for over 20 years and it can become pretty stressful. Granted, when it comes to decorating cakes for a customer you probably would make sure the spelling was correct. I do have to say, I've done it myself, thankfully on my own daughter's birthday cake (birthday was spelled birtday). Let's play nice...

I doubt it has anything to do with the public school system. How do you know the ages of these people anyway? Schools systems change over the years, and vary by location. Anyway, these look like misspellings done by people with something else on their mind. They were probably in a rush and one of the cakes say 'Happy annivisty' or something, and I bet that person had another word on their mind as they wrote that. Also, they could have not been that conscious and were kind of 'out of it' as they were writing.

Ok so one year my mother decided to pair me and my brothers birthday together ...When she called the cake in for order ...she told the lady I want the cake to say happy birthday Lauren and Tim ..She told the lady at the bakery that they are brother and sister ....When we went to pick up the cake It said Happy Birthday Lauren and Tim Brother and Sister ...Haha just in case everyone at the party didnt already know that ! Bad enough I had to share my birthday ...Thankfully she stated the obvious also !
