I was showering when my boyfriend opened the shower door and asked, "Have you seen my hand wraps?"
"They're in your dresser, top drawer."
"Thanks."
He shut the door and went away. A little while later, we were sitting on the sofa, when he said, "Were you shaving your feet in there? Is that what I saw?"
There was a long pause. Then I answered, "Yes."
Just to set the record straight: Most girls who have black or brown hair on their head also have black and brown hair on their body. All over their body. I'm going to be completely and totally honest here.
"So ... you have hairy feet?"
We've been dating for three years, and this is the first time he's caught me doing that.
"Well, I have hair on my feet. I wouldn't call them HAIRY FEET."
He cocked his head like a curious dog, pondering.
A few weeks later we were lying in bed. I was on my stomach. My boyfriend sweetly rubbed the base of my back ... and then shouted, "Oh my God! Look at this pelt of hair you have on your backside!"
Again, three years and he's never noticed. I was a little embarrassed, but mostly annoyed as he continued to tease me for my "pelt of hair," which is actually just some minor fuzz at the base of my back. I usually shave it or bleach it, but I guess I've been lax with personal grooming since my mom died. And, by the way, boyfriend, I guess you've forgotten the many times I've helped you pluck long black curly hairs from your ears. But I can see how you might forget something like that!
DEAL WITH IT. IT'S NATURAL. I would have a Frida Kahlo unibrow (see the amazing snap of her at r
ight) if I didn't wax between my eyes. I would also have a pretty thick mustache if I didn't wax it and pluck it and shave it all the time. If it weren't for the extremely expensive series of laser hair removal treatments, my legs would be covered in thick, dark, coarse hair, not unlike the arms of a long-haul trucker. If it weren't for that same laser treatment my pubes would go half way down my thighs. TMI? Too bad!
That's the price you pay, when bedding a hot, sassy Mediterranean broad like myself. Sure we have a little excess body hair -- that we usually groom meticulously, including the whiskers that grow from my chin (that you have no idea about because I'm plucking them constantly) -- but we are great in the sack and passionate about said sack action. So buck up, little camper, and deal with the "pelt" if you want to continue getting the sweet loving that you've come to expect on a regular basis.
Gentlemen, when you see excess body hair here or there get down on your knees and thank the sweet baby Jesus that you just landed a live one.

I have the same problem with all you ladies, except for chin hair and the brow. Thank you jesus!!! I hate having to maintain everyday but other wise I would look like a hairy monster. I also keep multiple tweezers in different sizes and styles for all hair. The one time that really grossed my out was when I saw my aunt's niece and she was reaching for something and she had pretty much a MAN's happy trail. At that moment I vowed I would keep up on shaving, nairing, and tweezing those hairs. I hate having hobbits feet also. I wish I had enough Native American blood in me to be less hairy. But aleast my bf is hairier than me he has hair on his shoulders and lighty on his back the rest of him is a forest. For some perverse reason I love it all!!!

I am Italian, native american and german. I have black hair, and yeah all my body hair is dark too. I am constantly plucking my chin "whiskers" and I did have some serious self esteem issues over it when I was younger, but it's not a big deal as long as I keep them plucked, you never know.
Luckily, I dont have extremely hairy legs or pubes, I guess because of the native american.

Story of my LIFE! i'm Sciliano (sicilian), and i've been dating this Norwegian guy for about a year and a half now. He's seen me at my worst (the whole uhhg, i really don't feel like spending 3 hours in the shower today so i think i'll skip the shave for today") and honestly, he accepts it and he understands (he told me that he hates the typical "American girl" you know, blonde hair, blue eyes, tall, blahblahblah). It's kind of funny because he's blonde, blue eyed, 5ft 10in. and i'm dark brown hair, olive(ish) skin, 5ft (i'm short..), big brown eyes.. completely opposites of each other. :-)
but what people sometimes don't understand is, it wasn't our fault that our parents gave us these traits of hair growth, but what can you do? i think that other girls should be jealous because like you said, we are great in bed. we are passionate, and drop dead sexy!
and hun, if your boyfriend of 3 years has anything else to say, dang.. i'd smack him. honestly, i shave the top of my feet, sometimes even my toes. i defiantly have to shave my arms and my knuckles.. it gets ridiculous but he should accept you for who you are, hairy or non-hairy, he needs to get used to it.

I found you after following a link from my blog (a post re shaving my legs for the first time in 10 YEARS) that said "you may also be interested in...".
I was a little skeptical at first because last time I followed one of those links it lead me straight into the arms of some crazy right wing extremists, but this was just great, thanks!

Hear, hear! On my mom's side is Irish/Polish/Russian/Lithuanian. On my dad's side is mostly Italian with a bit of Spanish and Asian something (too far back to know). So I've got the dark hair, pale skin, and heavy eyebrows. And my hair grows LONG. When I was little, my classmates used to call me hairy gorilla. Shaving my feet, legs, arms, and armpits has become habit since the fifth grade. I'm afraid to do much with my eyebrows; for that I cough up the $15 and get it done professionally. I'd love to get rid of the buggers for good, but I'm a bit financially challenged, and I'm a little mortified at the idea of spending that much money on aesthetics.
I'm lucky to have a man who actually likes the hair, though - even when it's stubbly! What a find!

Ooohh count me in. I'm not Mediterranean but I've got more than enough body hair. I keep fantasizing about a DIY laser hair removal tool so I don't have to spread eagle for someone else just to have it eliminated...

Ah yes, I am a French/English who happens to also have dark hair, light skin, and plenty of attitude. Since I was very small I recall having to tell off boys about my dark arm and leg hair. But as I have gotten older I have found there are some men who appreciate those silky little hairy spots. My half Mexican boyfriend loved my "pelt of hair" because all of the women in his family had it, that pelt is part of what made you a woman. Also, while I do shave my underarms now, I wore it gloriously for 10 years (13 to 23) and was told by an older professor that he recalled seeing underarm hair on very well dressed ladies when he was small and doesn't understand why so many people bother to remove it, again, beleiveing that it made you look like a woman. My man now is pretty great, but I admit being mortified when he gently inquired one night in bed if I noticed the (coarse) whisker on my face!

Damn! It feels great to know I'm not alone here! I'm also a Euro-mutt and have pale skin with black hair. EVERYWHERE. Like many of you, I was teased by boys and girls alike, usually with names like "monkey arms" or "gorilla". I go to an art college and I constantly see hairless women in my figure drawing class, with little to no pubic hair to speak of! I am amazed at how much I have compared to them, and even though I know it must have something to do with the profession, I can't help but fill with pride when I see a female model with a full bush walk on to the stand. Ladies, it gives me so much confidence to read your stories, and I hope I can overcome my hair anxiety someday :)
